The hotel was inflexible and difficult when I missed a cancellation window. I did miss the cancellation time by a few hours but there was no reminder email sent until after the cancellation window was closed. Admittedly this was my fault, but if the hotel is so busy, perhaps that room could have been rebooked by another guest. They didn’t offer me a refund—which is their policy, but they didn’t try to work with me at all. I offered a few options, perhaps a future discount at another time or some other consideration for the full nights fee they charged. Nothing at all.
