The staff is friendly and the hotel is surprisingly quiet despite the construction. They put us on the 2nd floor where the construction is happening. In our first room, the water was completely off (probably due to construction). We were moved to another room. The beds are terrible. They are so soft it's like sleeping on a pillow with no lumbar support. The pillows are down, which I am allergic to. There are other Marriott locations nearby that will get my business next time.

The property is old. Room we stayed needs new carpet, fresh paint. It does not reflect the area that is usually a high end area in St. Louis. I chooses this area because I know this area when I live here 27 years ago. I am somewhat disappointed.

The people running this hotel should not be in customer service. I booked a block of rooms for a family funeral and didn’t find out until we were all booked that the hotel was under serious renovation. Requests for rooms being together were not fulfilled, the hotel hallways were a mess. Casey who was my contact for our block wouldn’t even respond to emails, check in on us on arrival or respond to emails following our visit. The GM, Andrew also never responded. One room had a water leak and a few in our party wanted to leave a day early, and with over 48 hours notice they would not refund that nights stay for those individuals. I should have been told up front about the renovations prior to booking and you would think with over 30 nights booked through us they would have tried to accommodate some of our needs or even acted professionally and responded. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

This hotel is under renovation. You need to demand a newly renovated room, otherwise, I would not stay there. The un-renovated rooms are...meh. Even in the renovated wing, the water is shut off for hours and there is debris on the hallway carpet. I'd wait until the summer for it to be all completed. They were NOT going to put me in a newly renovated room initially and I told the front desk I would not stay at this hotel if that were the case. They put me in a renovated room (one just happened to be avail!) and it was clean and fine. From what I can tell, breakfast is not included. Coffee is.

Check in was very quick and easy, room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, and my stay was overall quite pleasant. The halls were quiet, and I got a great night’s sleep.
