The George Hotel

Arrived early evening and asked for a room nothing was too much trouble had us settled in a lovely room in no time . Staff are so friendly and welcoming service was 100% . After spending the evening in the bar we went to bed I can honestly say had the best nights sleep so comfortable crisp clean room , beautiful soft towels amazing hot shower. Came down to a lovely warm welcome for breakfast and the breakfast was amazing we left very full and very happy. We will definitely be back . Wendy & Eugene

Travelled down from Nottinghamshire for a funeral. The rooms were spotless I stayed with my sister and niece. My room had a four poster bed which was so comfortable the sheets and towels smelt amazing. Breakfast was good, staff really friendly. What more can you ask for. Thank you

We had a fantastic welcome for our stay at the George Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a great a**osphere in the bar with the Six Nations attracting attention which we took full advantage of. The locals made us feel very welcome. An unusual layout with the Pub/Bar and Restaurant one side of the courtyard and the hotel the other, but it works!!! The staff were welcoming and really helpful. We were visiting for a big family party and had cakes and sandwiches which they allowed us to put in their walk in fridge. The room was extremely comfortable, characterful, spacious and warm. Everything was really clean and the bed was extremely comfortable and well made which is one of my bugbears!! 🤣. We had a great night sleep. The breakfast was ample and freshly cooked with options for cereal etc beforehand, with veggie options for those who wanted. I was even allowed to have some extra toast! 🐽 Would highly recommend.

Excellent cooked breakfast.

Long day at work and so called in for something to eat. Lisa cooked me a beautiful steak. The steak was of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. A quiet pub with great bar service and a good pint, too. Just what I needed. Highly recommended.

We dined here on a Thursday which is the regular steak night. Tremendous value - two steaks for under £20. Beautiful taste and beautifully cooked. Worth a visit. They also do a curry night on a Wednesday.

We came down last minute to visit friends and booked the morning of visit lovely room very comfy bed and fresh breakfast cooked to order and it was hot !!! Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend deffo be coming back to stay again when visiting

The property was idea no complaints whatsoever. However the local area is not served with taxi services. When a taxi was eventually found we were quoted £50 for a fare under 2 miles. No where to park for longer than 4 hours duration. The taxi situation and parking spoilt the stay.
