My wife and I and two friends stayed at the Crooklands, prior to an early star on a Classic Car run next day. It was only for one night, but I wish it could have been more. I’ve seldom stayed in such a great hotel without paying a lot more money. From reception staff to bar staff and restaurant staff, everyone was excellent at their job and very pleasant. The food at dinner was second to none. We four all had different meals and all commented how good the food was. Breakfast next day was just as good. Our room, (124) was well equipped with plenty of wardrobe hanging space and drawers and I loved the large walk in shower which was very easy to work. The only criticism I have is that in the bathroom, where I would have expected a mirror over the sink, there was a window and the magnifying mirror on a stalk was a little difficult to get into position. However, this did not detract from the overall experience of staying at this superb hotel. We will definitely be back, as this would make an ideal place to base yourself to explore the Lake District and surrounding area. Thank you, Crooklands. Bernie Higginson.

We had a lovely stay at this amazing hotel; I can definitely see why they have won awards! We needed somewhere to stay one night on our way home from Scotland but ended up wishing we were staying longer. The room was very clean with a lovely comfy bed, a great shower and nice cosy towels. With it being near a road and the pub being downstairs I was expecting it to be noisy but I didn’t hear a peep and slept very well. We had dinner here and the food was great and the service was prompt and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic - a really great continental followed by a very delicious cooked option. Would definitely return if in the area again.

An excellent venue for a Car Club weekend. With about 40 folk we were well catered for with evening dining in a private room. The food was good but despite preordering several people didn't get what they had ordered but I suppose that's a function of the other people who 'couldn't remember what they ordered' Service was relaxed and no complaints were voiced over food. Breakfasts were in a self-service area and although at times items were low, replacements were soon replenished. Tea/coffees were served as requested. The rooms were excellent, having been recently refurbished. A lift served the first floor so eliminated luggage being hauled up the stairs. Ample parking areas were conveniently close to the hotel.

Such a lovely ckean and well.kept hotel. We were visiting for a family wedding. Breakfast was good but the stars were the cleaners...so jolly and helpful... came to us on way outvwith two forgotten items. Tooms were spotless and beds so comfy

Hotel was very very good , bedroom perfectly adequate for the price everything you needed , the restaurant for evening dinner was great the food excellent . Nice little bar area maybe more seating for guests only wanting a drink ?! Breakfast very nice …all staff very polite and accommodating . Recommend for a one or two night break .

Recently had my Dad's post funeral celebration here. The room was spacious and the service excellent. Selected buffet wasn't cheap but the food was tasty and good quality. Staff even provided takeaway boxes for the leftovers. Only disappoin**ent was the vegetarian offering as a poor relation in terms of choice, amount and value for money. Would book again though.

Big appetites are required, the food is delicious but portions are very healthy . I dislike leaving food but I had too, such a shame as it was lovely.

Our group of 15 people travelled the Lake District. We were warmly welcomed, and well informed about the rooms, which were really comfortable . The hotel provided a delicious dinner for the whole group. Time of breakfast was also adapted to our group's programme of the day. They served both continental as cooked breakfast. Congratulations for making people really feel at home!

Busy noisy bar and restaurant Next to large caravan park and busy road/closr to M6. Coach parties mean large noisy groups Kitchen staffing limited so dining times restricted and dining room staff rather unfriendly
