Spent two nights at the Tropikist and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Clean rooms, nice pool area and great breakfast. WiFi could be a bit stronger but overall great value for money.

Very good small local hotel around 50 rooms, right on the beach with very good local food. You get picked up from the airport complimentary by the hotel so upon going through departures look out for your names, as we were not informed prior to getting to the airport. Even though only a short walk from the airport this was a nice touch. This is a small local hotel around 50 rooms, not a large chain. I much preferred this as you get local food cooked fresh and a more personalised touch. But if you are used to endless choices of food with the big chains like rui this is not like that. The restaurant was a mixture of buffet and also table service (which I prefered). I enjoyed the choices of food and particularly like trying the local dishes. The service was usually good and friendly also. The front desk would whats app regularly asking how our stay was going which was a nice touch. The rooms were like a boutique style, clean and spacious. We were situated near the pool on the ground floor so could just walk outside the patio to the pool few yards away. We had the All inclusive package which was excellent value. A special mention to Alfredo who does alot of the tours from the hotel. He is very good and much more reasonable then the ones that operate outside the hotel and in store bay which is a short walk away. We went with him to sunday school & the all island tour both were excellent and he is a lovely man. He also took us to see the turtles in turtle beach laying their eggs. This was great i highly recommended. He also operates a taxi service if you need to get to anywhere. We only had one issue at this hotel. Which was a cleaner being way to pushy hinting for a tip all the time. It was uncomfortable and rude. A tip should be discretionary, not forced. She even asked what day we were leaving so she made sure she got tips. Then hang around by our door and stood there counting what we gave her. With no thank you. Found this very rude. As during our time she did not restock our fridge until we asked her, then after this hinted for a tip. She did not clean our room every day either. But apart from this, all the staff and other cleaners were good. The beach that the hotel is on think its called sandy beach. There are signs saying do not swim as it gets a bit rough. But its perfectly fine once you are over the initial waves you can go up to your chest safely. You are a short walk from store bay. We walked to swallow bay and pigeon point also. Althogh pigeon is about 25/30 mins walk. The shops and bars are only a short 10 min walk from the hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

We loved it here it's so chilled , quiet and the staff are welcoming every day I received a WhatsApp checking we were happy and giving us any updates such as repairs etc It's a small hotel , the menu is reflected in this , breakfast is adequate and the omelette is cooked to order and very tasty. No buffet no self serve . Lunch is at the pool bar and personally it was my favourite menu with more choices, wraps, burgers, pasta, salads etc. evening menu small soup or green salad, a choice of 3 entrees , 2 sides, and 3 deserts gateaux's and ice cream Entertainment very low key if any So if you need to be entertained on holiday and if you need a huge buffet with a very large menu, then this hotel is not for you if onthe other hand like us you want a quiet chilled week in what feels like a traditional small hotel, I don't think you can go far wrong The rooms are large and very clean. You will need to take your own shampoo conditioner and shower gel because they don't have any they do have a hairdryer.

Excellent authentic friendly hotel. A true gem on the best Caribbean island! We just spent two blissful weeks at Tropikist Hotel on the beautiful island of Tobago. This was our second time here - previously spent two weeks here in June 2023. We were welcomed back with the warmest friendliest greeting on arrival. Firstly our taxi friend Alfred Bernard collected us from the airport - he recognised us immediately and was genuinely pleased to see us again. Next Malieka in Reception promptly and efficiently checked us in with delicious rum punches ready and waiting for us. We arrived at dinner to see Nicole who greeted us with big hugs. Honestly, it was like seeing family again and, that is exactly what the staff are to us. The all inclusive food was amazing. We embraced the Caribbean delights and, our favourite breakfast items were the ‘with everything’ omelettes and the smoked kippers - absolutely delicious! It was Indian Arrival Day during our stay which was celebrated with an Indian Feast for lunch served à la carte - so tasty! Evening meals Mon-Fri were all à la carte - always a fish dish, chicken dish, lamb or beef - excellently presented and all tasted fresh, flavourful and delicious. There was nothing I didn’t love! I have so many new favourites! The soups, oh my goodness the soups… different every day and the best soups ever! Weekends are usually BBQ/buffet - again excellent! Rooms are spotlessly clean and air conditioning great. Beds are comfortable and we slept well. Love all the birds, iguanas and lizards wandering around! Added bonus is there are no flies and zero mosquitoes because of the birds. No bites and no upset tummies at all. Loved the tiny Bananaquit birds - so cute and you can hand feed them! Walking around and about is so safe and as you pass anyone they will wish you a blessed day - no hustlers at all. Local tour operators and guides will introduce themselves and let you know where to find them if you need them. They have this approach nailed because you will do as there is no pressure. All the local bars and eateries in Crown Point are clean, hygienic, safe and cheap. Use the ATM at one of the two banks in Crown Point to draw out TT’s - exchange rate is good with the £ - not so, with US$. Do visit Store Bay beach and also Swallow Bay which has a great bar and food. Local bus to Scarborough only costs 24p! Some fun bars and eateries there too. Special shout out to Dennison and Michael (bar), Nicole who is a really efficient and lovely Manager. Chelsea who gave hubby extra cake and made his day! See you again very soon! Thank you all at Tropikist for an amazing holiday !
