Innkeepers were friendly and helpful. We had a chalet which included a sitting area (with sofa, arm chair and gas fireplace) and kitchenette. The sleeping area was furnished with a four-poster bed and jacuzzi. Bathroom was modern, pristinely clean. Breakfast was available at an extra charge that was well worth it. Only downside was the fact that dinner is only served 4 days a week. That said, the innkeepers mage helpful recommendations for nearby places. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

A stunning “find.” Beautifully designed and meticulously cared for. Our highest recommendation. The strolls down to the water, through the meadow were enchanting, calming and easy.

What a delightful stay! This 3rd generation family inn is located on the beautiful, quiet Northumberland Strait of Nova Scotia. The water is warmer there, the sand is solid and safe for wading or swimming. We stayed in a cabin with a kitchenette, expecting to make our own breakfasts. But after having breakfast there the first morning, we enjoyed it so much we decided to buy their delicious, homemade breakfasts every morning of our stay in their beautifully appointed dining room. We were there one evening when they served dinner and it was equally as delicious and lovely. If you are looking for a quiet, private spot with the option of either cook your own meals or enjoy their cooking, consider this place.

Beautiful and rather secluded location. Sadly they do not serve dinner except Thursday-Sunday, this means you need to drive 20-30 minutes for dinner on M/Tu/W. The breakfast was very good , but limited selection. The furniture in the chalets were old and cushions were uncomfortable.

We stayed at the Inn for a wedding nearby, and hadn’t been to Amherst before except as a stop along the way to somewhere else. We heard very good things about the Inn… and it still managed to exceed our every expectation. The chalet we stayed in was wonderful. Full kitchenette, comfortable bed, spacious seating/lounging area, and a view to the Northumberland Strait that was especially superb at sunset. The Laceby family are excellent hosts, and their kitchen turns out excellent meals. The dinners they offer are every bit the equal to a high-end restaurant in the glitziest area of any city, and their chocolate cheesecake will make guest appearances in my dreams for years to come. As I said to Mary during checkout… this may have been our first stay at the Inn, but it will definitely not be our last.

We can not have everything,
Small corner of nature with a very beautiful view, however the accommodation is a little outdated and does not correspond to current comfort standards.
The VMC in the bathroom makes a terrible noise, a whirlpool bathtub has been placed in front of the bed between the bedroom and the living room…
The reception is mixed, not really friendly nor really unpleasant.
Very expensive for the service, it's only worth half in my opinion.

Zwei Nächte in einem Chalet - Erholung pur! Sehr gastfreundliche Gastgeber, Robert ist in der Küche und zaubert ein tolles Frühstück und auf Wunsch auch ein phantastisches Abendessen für die Hausgäste, Mary kümmert sich sehr aufmerksam um die Gäste. Wundeschönes Grundstück am Wasser, tolles Chalet mit Wohnteil und schöner Terrasse, Kitchenette und Gasgrill! Hier könnte man länger bleiben. Herzlichen Dank an unsere beiden tollen Gastgeber für den tollen Aufenthalt auf unserer Rundreise durch Nova Scotia!
