This is definitely an older hotel. No lights in the parking lot which makes one feel unsafe after dark. No extra chain on the door for extra level of security Very old tub which was a slip hazard trying to shower.

Well there was no one at the front desk to check us in Had too go to another hotel next door to check in. Was told to goto door c. Then all the way to the front for the elevator. Wonder why they suggested to park in the back of the building? Now for the fun part. How to find the battle fields, and the tourist attractions. This looks like our worst experience during this trip

The hotel was clean and perfectly fine. The front desk was great, however. The front desk went above and beyond for us during a convention my family was definitely not part of. Thank you.

I have to preface this review mentioning that we had visited this hotel 20 years ago and it was PHENOMENAL. We specifically wanted to go back there. THAT WAS 20 years ago… Uh-oh…. The exterior of the place has not had any touch-ups since our last visit. Paint peeling, shrubs missing, key readers broken, etc. The lady that checked us in had no pulse. Zero personality. She got us checked in and that’s it. We had asked for a poolside room upon reservation a month prior. We were told they would try to accommodate. We didn’t get a poolside room… We asked at the front desk (when she was there as she was NOT there on many occasions when passing by) if any were available (we could clearly see that MANY were available as we were there the entire weekend and could see when people were going to and from their rooms. You could see made beds, etc. There were poolside rooms available. The overall smell of the place was strange as well. It smelled musty. The pool itself appeared to be under construction as there was bare concrete on some floors, caution tape around wall supports, etc. Pool was DIRTY ! Lots of hair and a sheen on top of the water. You could tell they didn’t keep the filter running. Also, about 2 weeks prior there was a dog show/convention and the pool was available for the dogs to use !!! Ewwww !!! Pool towels were scarce. We noticed many people looking for towels and ended up using their room towels. Breakfast was the standard freebie of fake eggs, tasteless sausage, pancake machine, cereal, yogurt, etc. Not the greatest. (Catches breath)… The BIG complaint was the price ! Over $800 for 3 nights. THATS CRAZY !!! If I would have known the price (I didn’t book the room) I would have passed. Lastly, there was no turndown service.. That’s right, no new towels, no beds made, no cleanup. Nothing. We complained at the front desk and the girl said very nonchalantly “Yeah. That’s because there are only 2 maids on service for the entire hotel”. Never EVER have I experienced this before. You ALWAYS get a turndown. Ridiculous!! The room itself was not bad, I have to say. Cheap, thin door with a gap at the bottom but the room and beds were relatively clean. TV and fridge worked okay, great water pressure. I hate to be so harsh, but, NEVER AGAIN in a 100 years ! Avoid this place like the plague !!

Angie, Ed, Kathy, Diane are a pleasure to work with. So many improvements made in the last year and more to come. Thank you for treating our group with respect and dignity. You took care of our many needs with a smile! Look forward to staying again.

This was my second stay at this hotel and always a pleasure. The staff is accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Angie is just wonderful, and the hotel wouldn't be the same without Bobby. The front desk staff,breakfast cooks, and the dozens of support staff make this the place to stay in Gettysburg.

I have never reviewed any place as poorly as I will this dump. The facility is outdated, filthy, exterior doors are always unlocked even though guests are told to use their key but the doors do not close fully. The location is horrible and with any type of place to eat, shop or gas is more than five miles away in any direction. The entire facility was always cold and drafty. Hallways were dirty, unkept and disgusting. Employees were not accommodating, rude and very difficult to understand. Parking areas were very dirty and unkept. The little store/cafe has a very limited inventory for being so far from any other type of store. Over priced store and the room rates are outrageous for such a rundown and dirty place. Interior and exterior garbage cans overflowed for days and the eating area is disorganized and dirty. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Convenient for our Remembrance Day celebration as the ball was held in the ballroom at the hotel.
