Best Hotels in Cunardo, Italy

The location is excellent, just a few meters from the coastal road. The (sportboat) port is only 200 metres away, so you can walk on the sea side to the other end of the place to take the ferry there. The hotel is conducted by two business-made ladies, who made me a stick for a single trip room 140 euros, which was clearly too much. Unfortunately, in open windows, sleep is hardly thought, because in about 30 meters away the freight trains pass, if you have the room to the wrong side. It's a fairytale! It took me a lot to decide if to take the risk to travel or not. I'm glad I did take the risk! This is the first holiday when I don't check anything about the place I was going to stay, surrounding area not at all, just wanted to escape London for a bit. From far one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. The hotel looks like a museum, incredibly amazing, surprises didn't chased to happen, they have a pool, tennis court, soccer court so many facilities, it's crazy. The room I've stayed, stunning,the view from the balcony took my breath away. It's quite, it's beautiful, it's perfect! Hotel stuff, they couldn't do any better than this, friendly, willing to assist whenever necessary, I felt like home! I've even got an early check in 🤗.Thank you Domenico, Monica, Andrea, Manpreet and everyone else!!! For anyone looking to escape the madness from a busy city like London let's say, this is the best place to be! P.S. make sure you bring mosquitoes spray, as I've mentioned I haven't done any inquiries before coming so, mosquitoes attack wasn't fun at all. I was looking forward to have dinner in the outdoors restaurant which ended up being a nightmare, but it was entirely my fault, the hotel is located on a hill, surrendered by trees obviously you'll have to deal with mosquitoes. The place was clean, but the food was awful. One of my friends got sick from their ham. It is like 20 minutes away from Varese center by foot, it is like 30 minutes away from the train station, my point is it is quite far from the things of interest of Varese/places to eat ( you have to search them, because besides the coffee, nothing has taste there) At lunch, we had brocolli wich looked really awful. Horrible food.

First of all, ignore all the reviews older than a year, because it’s pretty much a new hotel. This place should have much higher reviews. It’s a newly refurbished hotel in a great location, only 20-30 minute drive from all the lakes, and 15 minutes to Varese. It includes free parking for all guests. The style of the Hotel is a mix of retro and modern inspired by 50s American diner, with cool neon lights and beautifully tasty furniture with a contemporary feel. We stayed in a Standard Room, which was more than big enough for my wife and I. The bed was massive and comfortable. We were able to ask for two more pillows which they gave us without any hesitation. There is a huge TV, fast Wi-Fi and USB charging ports on either side of the bed. The bathroom is crisp, clean, modern and spacious. Amazing shower with rainfall shower head and handheld option. Sink, bidet and toilet. The usual. Breakfast is also included and is plentiful. Different options to choose from different hams and turkeybreast, cheeses, various sweet options like cookies and pastries. There is a coffee machine that is available 24/7 as well as a fridge with drinks and selection of chocolates and snacks, which works with an Honesty System where you must write down whatever you take. I cannot praise this hotel more that giving it five stars. I’m very picky when it comes to choosing hotels, especially since we stayed for seven nights. We will absolutely be back. Lastly, the best part of the stay were the staff. Every single one of the employees from the receptionists to the housekeeping girls were stupendous and lovely. They made our stay worthwhile. So thanks to all of them. This is an example of how every hotel in the world should be managed :-)

This hotel is amazing ! Staff are super helpful and attentive - nothing is too much trouble for them. Room service is the best I’ve ever had - fresh pasta delivered to the room in under 20 min (had hangovers)! In the best location - right in the hustle bustle but rooms are so quiet . We will 100% be coming back here .

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

Ich habe im November 2023 das Hotel zwei Nächte von Freitag bis Sonntag besucht. Ich kenne es seit ca. zehn Jahren und bin fast alle Jahre ein bis zwei Mal pro Jahr dort gerne abgestiegen. Sauberkeit, Küche und Service habe ich stets geschätzt. Das Hotel hat auch ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Nun aber hat sich vieles verändert. Am Samstag Abend war für uns Hotelgäste das Restaurant ohne Vorankündigung geschlossen. Mit zwei grösseren geschlossenen Gesellschaften war die Küche offenbar voll ausgelastet und alle anderen Gäste mussten auswärts essen gehen. Am Samstag Abend war das Restaurant dann für uns offen und das Abendessen war recht gut. Samstag Nacht: Im geräumigen Keller des Kreuzganges fand eine Party statt. Ich hatte ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Blick in den Garten und leider auch schräg über dem Kellergewölbe. Die ganze Nacht lang bis zwei Uhr morgens ertönte laute Musik gemischt mit unprofessionellem Klaviergeklimper, sozusagen in einer Schlaufe. Ich habe ganze vier Stunden geschlafen. Sonntag Morgen: Beim Frühstück war das aufgeschnittene Weissbrot stark angetrocknet, es stammte wahrscheinlich vom Vortag. Auf dem Tresen stand eine ziemlich neue moderne Kaffeemaschine. Cappucino aus dem Automaten: Anstatt mit frischer Milch arbeitet die Maschine mit Milchpulver. Der Cappucino war schlicht ungeniessbar. Auf Verlangen hin bekamen wir dann aber frische heisse Milch. – Das Wochenende hatte ich mir anders vorgestellt. Seit ca. zwei Jahren hat das Hotel ein neues Management, das mit durschschlagendem Erfolg daran arbeitet, den vormals ausgezeichneten Ruf des Hotels zu zerstören. Mich dauern die langjährigen Angestellten an der Reception und im Service. Das Rezept des Managements ist offensichtlich Gewinnmaximierung um jeden Preis, völlig egal, ob dabei Gäste und Stammgäste vergrault werden. In Italien eine Kaffeemaschine mit Milchpulver zu betreiben ist eine Todsünde und eine Beleidigung für die kulinarisch hochstehende Region Piemont. Dem Hotel empfehle ich, wenn es seinen ehemals guten Ruf behalten möchte, das Management dringend auszuwechseln und von schnöder Gewinnmaximierung Abstand zu nehmen. We have just come back from a week in Varese. We chose the hotel Europa as they have some rooms equipped with a little kitchen. It was a special and important occasion for us. What to say: first, the location is unbeatable while you are right in te city center, with dozen of restaurants nearby. Parking is not an issue as the hotel has a closed parking. In terms of furnishing, services etc. It is a typical Italian 3 stars hotel. Somehow you can feel that the place has had a glorious past and feels now a bit decadent (green spaces not wow, some kitch decoration touches etc), a restaurant which is now a pub with a limited choice BUT what Makes the Europa special are the people working there: Alessandro, Roberto and Daniela in reception, the guy managing the pub / restaurant and of course the chambermaid Nicoletta: they really made us feeling and at home and they are the best reason to come back!
