AI Summary

Guests appreciate the exceptional value, friendly staff, and clean, spacious rooms with comfortable amenities at this beachside location. While the breakfast variety is praised, the rock-hard bacon may detract from the dining experience.

Great hotel, there is no pharmacy inside the hotel or in the surrounding area, bring a first aid kit and Doliprane. There are plenty of activities on offer at the hotel and on the beach, a real all-in, but nothing around. The hotel is magnificent, the service is impeccable, the cleanliness, nothing to complain about The city is 30 minutes by car. Taxis are negotiable

Large resort in an isolated position (35 km from the town of Sal Rei) but on a long, white beach. Three swimming pools and free sunbeds also on the beach with the shade of palm trees. Lots of people but just try to avoid the busiest times for lunch and dinner (the food is of medium quality, especially suitable for Nordic customers). Excellent cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.

Booked RIU as we have fell in love with the hotel brand and know what to expect. This hotel is huge - you realise how big when you approach - several pools to choose from, activity team are lively and are a friendly, enthusiastic team who will do anything for you. The hotel have a cleaning crew constantly working - rooms, communal areas and pools are spotless. There is a choice of restaurant - main buffet, pool buffet, Cape Verde speciality, Italian… & an Adult only. Again spotless! Menu is varied however due to size of complex food choice is a little repetitive in the 2 buffet restaurants. Italian was lovely. The adult only dine experience was lovely, calm and relaxing although food not go our taste - BUT that is no reflection on the service food or quality! We are just not keen on the Al a carte dinning. The buffet dining restaurants were both scheduled to be open in the evenings during our stay - however the pool one was never open… no explanations. This meant the evening meal was very very busy and it felt like a cattle market. Staff helpful and welcoming though. Evening entertainment was not to our taste but we didn’t mind, the sound quality was awful but it is an open air stage and can not be helped. 3 bars in the event area so we were able to get served quickly. We upgraded to adults only for this holiday - on reflection we will not do that again as we did not see any benefit from paying the extra! The only bonus we utilised was the adult only pool & adult bar neither of which we used more than twice on the holiday as the alternative pools & bars were more than enough to keep us content. If you are looking for a well spaced out holiday destination with activities and lovely staff you will not go wrong at Touareg. Weather is amazing, rooms sufficient for your stay but please bear in mind it is huge! 6 pools and we only used 2! Beach on your doorstep and half an hour from the airport! Too big for us but we had a lovely break… Thank you to everyone who cared for us during our stay! X Room 4003 28/04 - 05/05/24!

We had a wonderful break at this hotel, rooms spotless, food was really good the Italian and the Asian especially was fab. Waiting staff really good and the bar staff were great. Main pool was dated they were repairing mosaic tiles while we were there but again constantly cleaning around pool area. We enjoyed the spa and my partner had his hair cut while I relaxed in the jacuzzi. I wanted a holiday to relax and this was perfect. Cesar bar man was great man always helpful and had little chat about local area. Touareg team we will be back very soon!

Cheap and cheerful definitely not a five star more like three. Good points, hotel backs on to a beautiful beach, staff are brilliant, plenty of sunbeds. Bad points, rooms very tied, food repetitive not great, alicart restaurants buffet self service, entertainment dire. For a RIU hotel I was expecting better I suppose you get what you paid for.

Such a beautiful hotel, excellent food with different restaurants there is also an adult only side to this hotel. The beach is beautiful however the sea is very powerful and you cannot swim in it. The pools in the hotel are clean and beautiful with a swim up bar. Entertainment is amazing a night club if you can stay up late ☺️ and also access to another night club at another hotel. Overall the holiday was amazing

This place is big. As you approach it you think it's a town. To walk around it, it feels like a town. I don't know what the capacity of it is, but there's a lot of people there. As everyone arrives on a bus, the reception gets swamped and check-in is slow. I would use the RIU app before arriving and use the priority queue once there. A bell boy will take your suitcase to your room, which is a big help. Room's are quite nice. Clean, with everything you need. Tea and coffee maker plus a fridge. Plenty of complimentary water. One point to note, as water is precious the toilets are flushed with grey water, which makes them smell like drains. As the toilet is in a room on its own you can just shut the door. It's not an issue. Air con and a ceiling fan keep you cool. The dining experience can be very busy. It's a buffet set-up and all the food is well labelled, but there is no allergen info, so you need to ask. Plenty of choice, you certainly won't starve. Everything was nice and freshly made. One thing I didn't like was their choice of sausages. They're the hotdog type that you can get in a jar. Otherwise, breakfast, lunch and dinner was all good. There are a lot of staff, so service is great. They've been trained well. No complaints there. Evening entertainment was hit and miss, but overall it wasn't bad. There are shops on site selling the essentials and gifts. The pools are nice and a good size. They also never really got crowded, despite the numbers of people there. Sunbeds are all around and mostly in good condition. I only saw a couple of broken ones the whole week. There's a beach with palm trees and sunbeds if you prefer, but it's a bit of a walk from the main complex. The sea was too rough for swimming in though. If I'm going to have a moan, then it's regarding the signage. At the entrance to the main pool is a sign stating "inflatables and ball games are not allowed", however, there's a shop on site selling inflatables and footballs. These can only be used at the pool, which is a complete contradiction. Plus, the usual gripe about people reserving sunbeds and then going for breakfast. Again, a sign asks you not to, but it's never enforced. If you like all inclusive holidays on a grand scale then this should do you nicely. I'd recommend a week's stay as any longer could start to feel a bit repetitive.

The resort was beautiful. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. We would definitely return.
