Hotel Riu Karamboa - All Inclusive - Adults Only

Booked a week in January for some winter sun. Stayed in a swim up room which was tucked away and perfect for quiet and privacy. Staff were friendly and happy making us feel very welcome. Beach was nice but no swimming in sea as red flag up all week. Food plenty of choice but restaurant busy and not much of a dress code in the evenings. Really enjoyed the white party and an added bonus we got to experience the neon party as we ended up stuck for extra 3 days due to sandstorm, meaning no flights in or out. Hotel were fantastic letting us keep our room and making the extra days we were stuck stress free. We enjoyed our holiday and would definitely have a swim up room again.

We went to this hotel September 2023 and had a great time. Very friendly and clean hotel. Good place to relax as not much to do outside of the hotel. The beach was amazing but unfortunately sometimes it is not safe to swim due to the strength of the seas currents and drag of the waves! However this is the perfect place if you want time away to chill and relax ... I enjoyed it so much that I am returning in November this year with my adult daughter for some mum and daughter chill time ! Weather is beautiful, hotel clean and friendly and food to a good standard, so what's not to like ! I would like to say that this is quite a large hotel, so some walking is needed and there are no lifts if you are on an upper floor.

3rd trip to Cape Verde and this hotel didn't disappoint. The staff are outstanding and seem genuinely happy in their work. Rooms comfortable and food choices excellent. Alcoholic drinks are watered down but this isn't a bad thing as they are available 24 hours a day. Would definitely return to this hotel.

we recently spent 10 nights at the Karamboa , the hotel is lovely no building is higher than 3 floors, it is quite spaced out and the gardens are very well maintained, the food was excellent and all of the staff were more than happy to help you and look after your needs special mention to Hamilton who works in the sports bar and Wilson who worked in the Morabeza bar great lads , the rooms were very clean and quite spacious our favourite restaurant was the Asian and the gourmet restaurants, only complaint you could have more branded spirits to drink and a alternative to the strela lager, but overall a great hotel worth a visit , be aware there isnt a great deal to do outside of the hotel

Dear Resort Manager, I am writing to express my concern regarding the stray cats and dogs I have encountered during my stay at your resort over the past few days. These animals appear malnourished, sickly, and in very poor condition. It is distressing to see them left to their own devices or reliant on the occasional leftovers provided by compassionate guests. I have noticed that there were two plates—one with water and one with food, including cat food—placed outside one of the buildings for these animals. However, after a few days, these plates were removed, presumably by staff members. This action was particularly frustrating and heartbreaking, as these provisions were the only source of sustenance for the animals in the heat. Furthermore, I read online that this resort used to have a cat cafe about six years ago. When I inquired at the reception, the staff said that it was removed during a recent reconstruction and then denied the presence of cats on the premises, which is clearly untrue. I am urging you to take immediate action to address this issue. The number of stray animals is not overwhelming; it'd be wise to tackle this issue before there is more stray animals running around. With a little care and attention, the resort could significantly improve their welfare. Additionally, this situation presents a unique opportunity to reinstate a cat cafe or sanctuary, which could be a delightful attraction for guests and a testament to the resort’s commitment to animal welfare. It is a basic human decency to care for the helpless and not turn a blind eye to their suffering. Addressing this issue would not only enhance the resort’s reputation but also demonstrate that the management genuinely cares about the well-being of all living beings within the resort grounds. I hope you will consider implementing a plan to provide food, water, and basic medical care for these animals. This compassionate action would undoubtedly be appreciated by many guests and would set a positive example. Attached are photos of one of the cats from your resort.
