My husband and I traveled to Cleveland for a wedding and stayed here for 3 nights. This is one of the most outdated hotels I’ve seen in a long time. The lobby, hallways, and especially the guest rooms have terrible lighting. The only somewhat decent lighting is the bathroom and that’s not saying much. There were two mirrors in our room-one in the bathroom and the other being a full length mirror outside of the bathroom. However, due to very poor lighting and there being no outlet by the full length mirror, I had to do hair and makeup in the bathroom and coordinate bathroom use with my husband to guarantee enough time for us to get ready. It would have helped immensely if there was an outlet by the full length mirror. Our room was dark, outdated, and had a ton of wear and tear. The curtains were dirty, the desk chair was ripped, bathroom towel hooks/holders were broken or missing, the lamp shades were torn. It was just dingy all around. The room does have a mini fridge and microwave but strikes out on simple amenities that go a long way like hand and body lotion, shower cap, pen, pad of paper. They do provide coffee and coffee maker but we did not partake. The only two positives were the comfortable bed and the AC worked well. We didn’t ask for a different room because we talked with other wedding guests and their room conditions sounded like ours. The hallways had markings all along the walls which looked to be caused by housekeeping carts, luggage and luggage carts. We didn’t have much interaction with staff during our stay so I can’t comment on the service but we did come in and out a lot and never once were we greeted by anyone at the desk. At check-in, the staff did not acknowledge my husband’s Hilton honors status. My last and probably biggest complaint is that my husband and I came home with at least a dozen bug bites each on us. We noticed a couple bites the morning of our departure. We thoroughly checked the mattress and the look of the bites do not match bed bug bites, thank goodness. We never were around standing water during the weekend nor did we go to the hotel pool. Other wedding guests I checked with didn’t get bites. I can’t help but think our room had a mosquito, spider, or other insect problem based on the overall condition of the room. Long story short- I do not recommend this hotel and hope they do a major deep clean and makeover for future guests.
