Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort Reviews

We had a very pleasant stay. Everything was great, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. The team always accommodated our special requests and was very attentive. The food was very good, and everything we ordered was tasty. The menu also offers a wide variety of options. The diving school was also very good. Everything was well organized, and the whole experience ran smoothly. Overall, we were very satisfied and would gladly recommend this hotel.

The diving resort is excellent. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Room is simple and clean. The toliet is clean and renovated. Only downside is the resort is quite far from the public jetty. They couldn’t arrange anyone to pick us from the jetty and we had to carry our dive gears for 15 mins walk and some parts there are no pathways. Was quite tiring when we reached the resort. Restaurant: they have lots of variety of food. But I think also it’s their weakness. The food were probably prepared and frozen. Hence it cannot be customised and also tasted quite plain. we went to their neighbour resort and the food variety was limited but tasted much better. Price is also very expensive as compared with other restaurants on the island. - if you got the energy go next door. Diving - the crew is fantastic. There is nothing to complain but lots of praise. Full service including setup cleaning and also helps you to put on your gear and fins!

The hotel was right on the beach and had a dive shop with a nice restaurant. The room was cute with really nice toiletries and a deck area to sit on. Overall, I enjoyed the stay there. What's not mentioned is that there are no roads going to the hotel, the bikes will only take you half way down an alley but then the sand is too deep for them to travel on. You have to walk through sand for the last 200m to the hotel itself.

Did not have water when we checked in and tried to shower. Toilet in room would not flush well. AC went off half way through the night and was hot in the room. Our room faced the bar on second floor and music was loud and playing late.  Location is great, wait staff and front desk staff are friendly and helpful.  Beach area is nice and has plenty of seating.

We came for a few days of diving Almost every day we dived and we had breakfast included Every day we asked for a meal for diving with no ham because we can’t eat ham because of religion and every day they put ham in the meal after we were on the boat already and every day we didn’t eat because of this

Resort is far away for the airport. Otherwise it’s worthy.

Good for diving trip. But the facility is too old. The staff is nice and it's good place to stay if you visit the island

I think this is probably one of the best hotels on the island. I liked everything. The food in the restaurant is good. The dive center is excellent. I recommend it.

A very good beach hotel on the ocean shore, everything is fine in the hotel, it's worth the price, the sea entrance is very bad, only seaweed, a lot of sea urchins, a lot of thorns, you're always afraid of stepping on something

It was a bit of a distance from the beach, and it wasn't as beautiful as I'd hoped, which was a little disappointing.

1. The room was large and comfortable. I was amazed when I saw the balcony. There is a welcome drink upon check-in. 2. The hotel has its own restaurant and massage service. The Western food is not as good as it tastes, but it is not bad. The price of the food is 45, 671 yuan, and the drink is 20 or 30 yuan a piece. Massage is about a hundred dollars less than an hour. 3. The hotel is located on the beach. It is very relaxing to order a drink and sit in the restaurant by the beach for half a day. It feels like all the worries are taken away by the blue sea, blue sky and breeze. The children went to the beach to play in the water by themselves (pay attention to safety, our children are older, and we even took the diver's certificate here for 2,000 yuan, which is great value) 4. The people here are simple and honest, and there is no such intrigue. Adults and children will say hello to you when you walk on the road. A crew member's daily income is only about thirty or forty yuan a day, which is not enough to earn a living every day. So please try not to take advantage of them. Once, a crew member gave me a banana. I didn’t leave a tip after eating it (he didn’t show any need for me to tip). When I later found out about their income, I always regretted it. They were so poor. They are so generous to us, I should give a tip, they are very grateful for just two or three yuan. 5. However, the tap water on the island is salty, so sisters who love beauty can buy mineral water to wash their face in advance, otherwise the speed of darkening will be visible to the naked eye. The most common people I see here are families of three from Europe and the United States, with many children. The overall feeling is good value for money

Very good hotel with a dive shop

We had a fantastic stay at Exotic Island Dive Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malapascua for diving. The service throughout was excellent; the team were warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The food was very good, with a wide variety of options (if anything, almost too much choice!); and the wood-fired pizza was a real standout; easily one of the best meals we had during our stay. The accommodation was exactly as shown in the photos; clean, comfortable and well maintained. The diving, however, is where this place truly excels. It was absolutely top drawer and exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to our dive guide Arvie; an incredible spotter with a great eye for marine life, and someone who went above and beyond to support us, including helping significantly during an underwater incident. He and Julius also quickly sorted an issue with my BCD valve, which was hugely appreciated. The wider dive crew were equally lovely; professional, friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Highlights included unforgettable encounters with thresher sharks and mandarin fish; truly special experiences. Overall, an outstanding dive resort with a fantastic team. We would absolutely return.
