We had a really enjoyable stay here. The staff very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. Our evening meal was delicious and nicely presented as was our breakfast.

The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The breakfast was prepared and served by a very welcoming young man who took obvious care in his craft. Many choices, all tempting. The only slight drawback might be steep stairs and on street parking.

We were bicycle touring and arrived exhausted. All our needs were met by the friendly staff and we left rested and satisfied. Bikes were accommodated in the cellar. Traditional Scottish fare. A good location for our adventure around DumGal.

Stayed overnight while visiting family locally. Rooms were lovely, clean and had everything we needed. All staff members were friendly and welcoming. Catered for gluten free dietary requirements, options on main menu and look fab and tasted delicious. Choices were great for both evening meal and breakfast. Choice of eating in bar or restaurant.

A very convenient centrally located pub/hotel with rooms and attractive bar (and helpful bearded barman) near a lovely park. We spent 2 nights there as we toured the area and visited the very good local museum. Bus routes are well served. Breakfast is basic self service with nicely cooked hot meal served to table. We had dinner one night which was delicious steak pie.

We had drinks and lunch here on a visit to the town, whilst staying nearby. The service was very friendly, a nice range of drinks, and the food was really good - better than standard pub fare, for sure! We had soup, a pizza, and one of the sharers, and everything was generous and delicious.

Rooms are above the bar but all noise stopped at midnight even though it was Easter. Breakfast was included and was excellent. Staff so friendly and helpful. I did book a double room as I do find the singles sometimes claustrophobic. The double was roomy and had a large great shower.

We absolutely love going to the birchtree the food is amazing and the staff have really got to know us so they now know when we walk in what my hubby drinks. We have always enjoyed going and having a chat just to get out of the house. I have been in one of the rooms they are lovely.

Absolutely fantastic , booked direct (best way stayed here before , has had a face lift in the bedrooms and bar area , Good nights kip , great bar staff , and the breakfast was wonderful. Parking on the road outside or across the road is safe and no restrictions
