Love our stay at Dalen Hotel, I think this might be my favorite hotel in Norway. We felt like we were actors in a costume drama like Bridgerton or Downtown Abbey. The Historic hotel is just so we'll maintained, that you get the feeling it's been in operation constantly since it opened in 1894. Dalen Hotel is three hours from Oslo, situated in a quiet Fjord, with amazing food and a stress free environment. There is a must visit Sauna a 5 min walk from the hotel, down by the fjord: Soria Moria Sauna The best thing with the hotel is the dedicated staff. They are quirky, interesting, dedicated and very knowledgeable. Loved them. They also serve amazing cocktails, one of the best ala carte breakfasts in Norway and impeccable dinners. We will return soon and bring friends! ❤️

Excellent accueil, service parfait avec un personnel agréable et souriant. Les chambres sont très propres et le restaurant excellent. Le sauna sur le lac est une bonne expérience et très originale.

Et makeløst opphold på Dalen Hotell. Artig opplevelse. Siden det var dresskode til middagen, valgte vi å finne på noe annet, men frokosten var alle tiders. Ikke minst var det helt supert å få fortellingen om hotellet fortalt i korte trekk i baren på kvelden.

Very pleased with the dinner, breakfast, sauna package and the hotel grounds. What could be better: The story telling was a tad long. Try to make it in 20 minutes, and do include some ghost stories! The ghost was not mentioned. Also, there should be a place you could dry very wet hiking clothes. The bathrom we had could not get any warmer.

Hyggelig besøk på historisk hotell. Rent og pent, god a**osfære og nydelig frokost! Vi koste oss i Dalen, og gikk blant annet opp til Rui. Turen er bratt, men absolutt verdt slitet. Servicen var stort sett veldig god. Eneste jeg kan trekke litt ned på er resepsjonisten på hotellet som ikke likte jobben sin. Det er greit, men ikke la gjestene merke det.

På Dalen förflyttas du till förra sekelskiftet. Pianist i salongen ersätter tv på rummet. Restaurangen har höga ambitioner men servicen hänger inte med och ger ett rörigt intryck. I denna del når inte Dalen lyxhotellkänsla och den nivå man förväntar sig. Rummen och miljön, både ute och inne, svarar dock med råge på högt ställda förväntningar. Vill du göra en tidsresa är Dalen ett bra alternativ.

Dalen Hotel is located in a beautiful valley in a idyllic town. Staff was polite and friendly upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. For our first meal we had afternoon tea. This was a bit disappointing as the table was not cleaned between setings and sticky raspberry jam from the last serving spoiled our cutlery. The service was very slow. The room was nice and cosy with charm. This added to the historical a**osphere of the hotel. For dinner the restaurant had trouble serving two different wines at the same table so we had to drink the same wine by the glass. This was very disappointing as we love wine and wanted to try different pairings. Otherwise the food was good. A nice stay but far from our expectations especially in regards of the service.
