Spirited Silky Inn（ncient Dali City）

We had a great stay at The Spirited Silky Guesthouse in Dali in October and November 2025. We stayed there twice over the course of three weeks on our cycle trip to and from Shangri-la. The hotel is in a convenient place, just on the outer edge of the Old Town. It's very close to all of the action but it's in a quiet location down a side street. The inside of the hotel is in the old style. It looks superb featuring a huge fish pond in a peaceful courtyard. As soon as you arrive, the staff team is only too happy to assist with anything you need and look after you throughout your stay.. Xiao Fen and Xiao Lou were both wonderfully helpful. The breakfast is delicious with noodles, Momo and vegetables, eggs, toast, butter and a choice of jams. Little desserts. Tea, and Coffee. All beautifully served. The cleaning staff are very helpful and our room was tidied and restocked every day. We also had the opportunity to try on the traditional ethnic group costumes as well as tasting some of the local teas. We highly recommend The Spirited Silky Guesthouse!

The hotel gives a very nice ancient vibe, very beautiful, very clean and staff are very helpful. Xiaoran was very helpful during my stay with general services and give some good food recommendation. 1st floor in hotel there’re photography services for ones want to experience ancient clothes style.

The hotel kindly upgraded our room for free to a very spacious one. The staff were incredibly helpful and made everything convenient for us. The location is perfect — just a short walk to Dali Ancient Town. There are several restaurants nearby, and the hotel also offers a free self-service laundry with detergent provided. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable stay!

Recommended place to stay in Dali Old town. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We got upgraded (without us asking for) from the double basic room we booked on trip.com to a different one because of work happening next to the initial booked room. This was very much appreciated. The staff also helped carry our luggages up and down the few entrance steps (there’s an elevator inside the hotel). We also got a voucher to try free ethnic dresses we could use at the hotel shop. It was fun and entertaining given the hotel’s decoration. Breakfast is a self service buffet with coffee, tea, eggs, fruits, toasts, etc but you can also order bow of noodles from the reception. Hotel was very well decorated and in line with the website pictures (no filter which is quite rare for China!). Loved the peaceful and relaxing vibe. Hotel is not easy to find as it’s in a narrow street 5min from main street and not accessible by car however staff provided us clear indications before our arrival. It’s very well located : few minutes from night market and 15min walk from old town gate. We enjoyed this very nice hotel.
