Sonder — Reverchon Park

Bed was broken, toilet seat was broken, check in (room code/entry) was AWFUL. Fan sounded like a train. Floor was dirty. Towel rod was broken. Location, room and concept if in proper condition would be amazing. Tons of potential to hit it out of the park here.

We came to dallas for my nephews wedding. Stayed at sonder for the location and huge apartment living arrangement. BBQ grill and pool was a bonus. Close to some great restaurants. Parking garage was close and easy to use. Very safe and secure building. Five stars.

The day before check-out I was called by Sonder customer service, they said there was a mistake and they needed me to check out one day earlier. I told them that if it will be a problem for me but they did care, so O said fine, but I can only come back around 20:00 in the evening to pack my equipment. When I arrived at the apartment in the evening after work, to pack everything, the electricity was cut off. I consulted with the maintenance man of the building and he said that Sonder just did not pay the bill so they got disconnected. I tried to call them lots of times but without success getting help, in the end I had to do a check-out with a flashlight in the dark. This is just one of many kinds of story I have experienced with Sonder in the last 9 months. Hope this will convey my feeling about these scammers.

Several things about this stay were not great; the access to the unit through the parking garage was not possible and the walking route was dark and looooong. Then when you get the key fob, you still have to access the elevator IN the parking garage. Very strange, and felt uneasy as I arrived to unit most nights after dark. All that aside, the unit is very clean and well equipped, but really, really poorly decorated. Terrible lighting, NO personal touches, scarce artwork - just felt like a new dorm room that had not yet been decorated - only furniture in it. I hated this place.

While in concept, Sonder makes sense if you were looking for a furnished apartment with all the amenities of home, go stay at a hotel that actually offers service and resolve your issues when you have them. The building is OK, but not worth the price. Parking is inconvenient, the unit was dirty, and Sonder did little to nothing to resolve our issues. I will never be using one of their units ever again.
