There is beautiful nature all around this peaceful spot. Great food and quick, friendly service. The Bakmee Chalet, where we stayed, had a living room ,dining room and a plunge pool. We could enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the Chalet because there was so much glass. Without a doubt, I would come back!

We picked this hotel to spend the last two days of our 7-day trip in the area, so we were expecting a relaxing and luxurious experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find that management had upgraded our room from Lower Bakmee to Kumbuk chalet, considering our privacy and the low occupancy during our booking dates. We found the staff to be very attentive, helpful, and they were eager to make our stay more enjoyable. They also sent us a cake to our room for our anniversary. Special credit goes to the kitchen staff. The food was really delicious and presented beautifully. The hotel premises offer many stunning views and we felt like we were living in a village, disconnected from all the busyness outside. As nature lovers, we really enjoyed watching various kinds of birds on the premise and taking walks on the nature trails. However, we must emphasize that the chalet was not up to a satisfactory level. The bed linens looked old (discolored), and the same goes for the towels as well. The bathroom area was the biggest disappointment. We found it very unpleasant during our stay due to the it’s dirtiness. Even the plunge pool outside was not clean. We believe that unless the management does a proper renovation and deep cleaning of this chalet (Kumbuk chalet) , it should not be given to visitors even at a discounted price. Moreover, the management should explain the condition of the rooms before accepting reservations.

Honestly I don’t want to give any spoilers. This is just almost mythical. Appreciate the fact that this resort is not only for the guest, they are just a part of the nature Kalundewa had created. Absolute Gem under the Radar. Inviting all to experience this serenity. Masterpiece. The staff is helpful, and simply wonderful. This is coming out of a hotelier him self. One of the most unique experiences I've had in the best possible way. This place combines the tranquil natural setting with effortless luxury. I was looking for a place to get some clarity and figure somethings in life and this was just the place. Also the food is incredible and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Pro tip, checkout the fruit farm!

Nuestra estancia fue agradable exceptuando el primer día. Nos alojamos a través de una agencia de viajes para nuestra luna de miel y nos habían elegido la habitación Kumbuk, muy bonita pero poco mantenida, el baño estaba extremadamente sucio y cuando entramos no habían encendido el aire previamente, por lo cual la habitación estaba a unos 40°C y por mucho que encendiéramos el aire, le costaba enfriar (aparte de que tienen un problema de que cada 20 minutos más o menos cortan la electricidad por unos segundos y se apaga el aire, así que hay que volverlo a encender manualmente - en esta habitación). Gracias a la agencia de viaje lograron cambiarnos a una habitación de categoría superior (Karanda), la habían limpiado mejor y a partir de entonces tuvieron detalles con nosotros (una tarta de cumpleaños, una tarta para celebrar nuestra luna de miel y nos decoraron la cama súper bonita con temática de luna de miel). En general todos son amables, aunque unos hablan poco o casi nada de inglés (sobre todo los que te llevan en los carritos). La comida está bien, aunque ciertamente los desayunos son muy iguales, si eliges el inglés: huevos, variedades de pan y bollería, salchicha, bacon, fruta, alubias blancas con salsa de tomate, tomate asado, zumo de frutas y patatas. El desayuno de Sri Lanka no lo pedimos nunca porque no somos fans del picante. El entorno es espectacular para desconectar unos días de la tecnología y el estrés y conectar con la naturaleza. Hay muchas especies de animales y plantas y la habitación tiene vistas 360° a la naturaleza

Exceptional experience hidden away in a middle of a small lake and paddy fields. We stayed one night in the Lower Bakmee which includes the private jacuzzi where we spent most of our time. Staff were amazing and well experienced. Food was great, we enjoyed each meal served to the room as we requested. The only downside is, the rooms need some renovations. Regular cleaning was good but it needs some major deep clean to bring it up to its original glory. Overall a great stay in a star class resort.

It was a great opportunity to experience a relaxed stay. The staff was very friendly , well experienced in hospitality and helpful as well.
