Comfort Suites Mobile East Bay

It was our 2nd time staying in here. Expected all 4/5 stars based on previous experience, but it wasn’t. Our bathroom floor was very slippery with oil, so we had to be careful not to fall. I figured out very late night that entire slippery bathroom floor must have caused by pesticides. I saw 3 small cockroaches were climbing walls and went in under the sink. We were assigned one king bed, instead of two queen, was what I booked for. The mattress didn’t look like laying horizontal. It was sinking towards to the headboard. I should have requested changing a room, but we checked in late and my child already took a shower. We were going to leave early morning, so just hold my eyes closed. The hotel will have a renovation entirely from Nov. for a few months. Hope it will be clean floor to ceiling with replacing old cracked furniture to new ones. But I will probably not stay again here after this experience.

The stay in this hotel was really great. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good too. Food was nice and hot. Hotel staff was very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend them for sure!!

Renovations aside, dirty, no cleaning for 3 days. If not for the excellent staff, would have been disastrous.

This hotel is in a good location, tucked between 3 or 4 nicer hotels that I wish we'd booked instead. The first room we were given at check-in seemed to be locked from the inside (the key opened the door latch, but the door only opened a couple inches). I was mortified that we might have been given an occupied room. The front desk clerk assured us it was only a problem with the door and said there were a handful of room doors on the property that are difficult to open. We were given a different room out of caution, without having to ask, which we appreciated. The guest room we stayed in had a faint smell of must, either from a previous guest smoking (although it was a non-smoking room), mildew, or both, but it wasn't overpowering and also we understand that mildew happens when you're so close to the bay! The room was also dim, even with all the lights on. The fixtures in the bathroom were literally falling apart. We had to be careful not to pull on the TP roll too hard, as it was very loosely attached to the wall. The toilet and toilet seat wobbled, and the sink was broken away from under the counter all the way around. There was mold or rust in the showerhead, and the tile and tub looked dingy. Water pressure and temp was fine, and the towels felt and smelled clean. In the morning, we discovered that the in-room coffeemaker was broken, but there is a Starbucks within a mile of the hotel. We requested housekeeping after 2 nights, but they were too understaffed to do it.

Great family stay with my daughter!! Will be back. Kind hotel staff and good breakfast.

Breakfast was good, big selection of food

The room was very clean. the Front desk clerks were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was extremely good! Very good choices! I stay in hotels six to nine nights a month, the breakfast here was the best of any free buffet breakfasts at any motel or hotel I've stayed in! Hands down the best! The internet was good. the choice of TV channels was excellent, they have all the sports channels, TCM both HBO & Max I will stay there again, the next time I'm in the area!

Looks nice but not very clean, it’s fine for a quick transit for the price.
