Hotel on the sea, but not kept very clean. The bathroom and room were very superficially clean, the bathroom in particular and even the sheets were not very clean. Even the staff, except the boy at the reception and the older waiter, are not courteous or hospitable. The water in the pool is a little fresh. The cuisine is nothing exceptional.

We stayed here for four days as a family (parents with child). As has often been written, this is an older beach hotel in a quiet location at a reasonable price. It has its advantages and disadvantages, and in the end it is a personal decision whether the shortcomings are more important than the price. If you look at the positives, then you can easily spend a few nice days here. The hotel is at the end of a very long dead end street with many - mostly higher priced - hotels. Right next door is a water park, but it didn't cause much noise, so it was quiet overall. Due to the location, you have to rely on taxis/rental cars or similar, but the beach is beautiful - for a city of millions. Nobody would swim in the sea here, but the pool is very nice, big and clean. The whole complex was obviously designed and built many years ago with great taste, with many beautiful details. In photos, some of it looks really great, as we discovered ourselves. Unfortunately, far too little has been and is being invested in maintenance, so that the decay is visible almost everywhere. The room - which must have been beautiful at some point in the past - was also dark and old. The large bed had a (important) mosquito net installed - but the extra bed did not (children are OK with being bitten?). The bathroom in particular was in dire need of renovation. Very little water came out of the shower, which had the advantage that the slow drain was not so annoying. Every day after the room was cleaned, we only had two towels left and had to ask for a third. The breakfast was very good, with a fairly varied buffet, with eggs made to order. The evening meal in the restaurant was also good. The WiFi worked quite reliably and reached our room. There was also a working safe in the room.

We got a family suite with a separate bedroom and they put 2 twin beds for us in the living room. The breakfast was very big with a good selection and they also have a good restaurant menu with a variety of prices and good selection. Clean decent swimming pool and nice stretch of sandy beach with coconut trees and lounge chairs. We did not see many people which was nice to practically have the place to ourselves. The resort itself it probably 30 years old and not been renovates since the tropical 80's vibe but kitsch in that sense. We had good AC and comfortable sleep, with even turn down service and nice comfy duvet and cozy blankets for children. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating kudos to Adrian at the front desk who helped solve a rude incident with the reservation lady who was shouting and hung up the phone on us she lied and tried to say she was the general manager then told me to just book on B.com. Which I told her I knew she was not the GM and no gm would tell someone to just book online (as hotel has to pay them a commission and we were enquiring about the direct rate they had listed. She almost ruined the entire stay because I was going to cancel due to her bad behavior. Also the 2 phone numbers listed were not working and had to send reminder email follow up. She should not be working in that role. Then after she hung up she lies and said she ran out of credit afternwe demanded an apology and threatened to write the director (which was total BS) so we called back and got Adrian who turned us around with his pleasant attitude. Other than that, not bad for a family friendly budget beach stay in Dar with a swimming pool close to the waterpark.

Spent 5 nights here & enjoyed the pool and the beach, which are kept clean throughout. However from the moment I stepped in the hotel to the third day of stay, there were several hiccups. First, my room was not ready. The bed was not yet made. Pillows not covered and had been placed on the seat available in the room. The bathroom had no towels too. Informed the receptionist and this was sorted after about 20 minutes. Got into the shower and the drainage was blocked so the water started flooding. I stepped off the shower & noted that the water was draining albeit slowly. I informed them of the bathroom issue and they promised to look into it. In the evening when I came back, the bathroom flooded twice more than the day before. I informed them again and this time stayed on to see the maintenance personnel fix it. After about 40 minutes it was sorted and I was able to shower peacefully. The TV and fridge were not functional and maintenance sorted it in about 15 minutes. Same to the safe and this was sorted in 5 minutes. While there, check the balcony doors. Not all close properly so I had the maintenance person fix mine & only left my room when sure the room was secure. This was after the male receptionist stated the hotel is safe and we need not worry but there are several notices clearly absolivng the hotel of any liability should you lose stuff. Tried changing rooms but the available rooms also had other hiccups so waited for the current issues to be resolved. Food took quite a while to be served but it was delicious.. Loved the fish salad & changu makange. Some of the staff were very pleasant and helpful while one or two looked like they were being forced to be there and really need to improve their people skills. It is quiet and ideal for relaxation but there is A LOT of room for improvement. While my first few hours were disappointing, I believe with a few improvements and regular maintenance, this hotel would be really amazing. Attached are pics of the ordeal.

Great hotel, nice pool, good food, great breakfast ,they have an execptable gym, friendly people everyting there but the beach is a big disappoitement. 100 % covered by sea****, they only clean a small 2meter way to the water when it is low tide. So great hotel especially for that price,,,,, but forget the ocean it's not part of your vacation as you cannot access it like you think you could

Our team of 14 spent 4 nights at Azure Boutique Resort in October 2021. Right before checkout, I called a professional photographer to take a few photos of me at the beautiful resort for 15-20mins. The manager sent one of his staff to tell me we're not allowed to do that and we need to pay. Keeping in mind, we had stayed there for several days and the hotel actually owed us money ($120) that they refused to refund since we overpaid in advance for a colleague who was unable to procure a visa. We decided to let it go. After trying to inquire with the manager, he proceeded to shout at me and aggressively kicked out the photographer from the hotel. He then sent someone to bang on the door of the colleagues and asked them to leave their rooms, despite requesting 30mins late checkout and getting it approved in the morning. This man is extremely inhospitable, rude, ******, unpleasant and for the most part useless. If Happiness (a very nice staff member) has to do your dirty work, you never acknowledged us even once, and then you ruin the entire stay with your attitude, what exactly is your purpose? Just bad vibes? If the owners/shareholders are reading this, please fire this incompetent man and promote Happiness. If Stefano is in fact the owner, then I can rest in peace knowing his business will surely close with his disgusting, gluttonous, fragile ego & attitude. Ok now to the full review: The Good: Great Wifi Great Breakfast selection Delicious lunch buffet Good Air-conditioning Extremely clean pool Beautiful beach views and trip to Mbudya Island Easy to hail an Uber Happiness was an absolute pleasure to work with. We arranged everything via email and she was quick to respond, was supportive and answered all our queries. The Bad: Incompetent, inhospitable, rude manager No hot shower Rooms on ground floor were moldy/musty In need of renovation, there were rusty stairs Two colleagues got locked in their rooms Overall, it was a very nice stay. Our team also used the conference package for 2 days. The meeting room was comfortable and the tea service was nice. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, not after my experience with the manager. If any problems were to arise, he would not handle them appropriately. Sadly, he brings the whole team down. I don't see the point in hiring foreign managers who have a bad/****** attitude when our Tanzanians can do a much better job. He's clearly in the wrong industry/profession. We ended up taking the pics in a neighboring parking lot and they turned out great 🔥

I wanted to spend a few nice and quiet days at the beach in DAR and this hotel turned out to be perfect for that. Its cheaper than surrounding hotels but has everything I needed. A nice and clean pool and beach, clean rooms with a private balcony (1st floor, better not to the pool) and a restaurant with delicious food (freshly made!). I also enjoyed having a kettle in my room for coffee and tea. For sure, there could be some adjustements made, also the building itself has had better times... but all in all, for having some quiet days and just be left alone it was perfect for me.

Suggested by friends we booked and stayed in this splendid Resort, one of the best in my opinion here in Dar er Salaam. Excellent welcome, super organised, excellent quality services equipped with all comforts in the very spacious room, with attention to detail and very clean with minibar and herbal tea room with kettle (fantastic) wow sea view. The delicious food, the wait for the meals was normal but let's not talk about the breakfast, there's everything more, European and local but with so much choice and so much food that you won't be hungry at lunch. The staff... from the guard, to the gardener, the maids, the guys at the Reception all very helpful and very kind, well if there is such a classy and professional Manager managing them. I thank all of you for surprising us, you definitely went beyond our expectations. Keep it up I wish you the best. Thank you asante sana, goodbye kwaheri.
