A very tired and run down hotel, well passed it expiry date. The Staff hasn’t the training or knowledge to work with tourists and the lack of guests shows this very clearly. It’s very dirty and expensive by Tanzanian standards, I wouldn’t go there if I was paid to stay or even visit this hotel. ONE TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Das war super - 2 Monate lang einfaches afrikanisches Leben und vor der Abreise in die Schweiz einen tollen und superschönen Endhalt im Bahari. Wenn ich das wieder einmal machen würde, sodann sofort wieder genau gleich!

Went several times for swimming with family, the pool is very clean only problem is there are some loose tiles at the bottom of the pool. The atmosphere is nice, clean beach and the service is very good. We had some chicken and chips with the margarita pizza which was very lovely

A few main observations: Pool is big, 4 ft deep on the shallow end and 7ft on the deeper end. However, loads of tiles have come off. The white grids around the pool have also come off at some places, and under them there is green algae. A kid tripped on one of the looose white grids and sooner or later, someone will trip on the holes. Old, rusty parasol stumps are also left lying around. Noone seemed to see the danger in that. The balcony rails from the restaurant are also not properly screwed in, the rails literally shake. It is so bizarre that they actually know that the balcony rails are loose, but they haven't done anything about them. I found the public bathrooms to be old, damp and not very clean or fresh-smelling. What is crazy is that when there are no order requests, the staff are mostly hanging around doing nothing, when there is actually so much handy work they could be doing to make sure things are in order. Zero proactively whatsoever. Food: Most things on the menu were not available. They also didn't have much in terms of wine, almost everything on the wine list was not available. Perhaps it's a good idea for the hotel to throw out the old menu cards and print out new accurate ones...? Dinner plates and bowls were cracked and chipped. When we alerted them to this, no apology was given. The kitchen is also dirty, from counter tops to cockroaches. Don't go to this place if you care about your health and want to have a relaxing time. The staff lack basic hospitality training. In other parts of the world, it is common practice to hire hotel staff because of their language skills. Here, some wait staff barely speak English. Which is fine, but a manager on duty should be making sure that staff with English skills are serving clientele that speak English. I do not recommend this place as it currently stands. Rather go somewhere else to enjoy your hard earned money. I certainly will not return here until I hear that the entire place has had a full renovation. It is a beautiful property with a lovely design and amazing potential, in a wonderful location. I hope to see it resurrected and back to what it used to be back in its heyday.

We got married here 6 years ago, so decided to revisit it for a day with our children and family. Long story short, no maintenance work has been done on this hotel since maybe 2000. Such a pity because the design of this property and its location is amazing. A few main observations: Pool area: pool is big, 4 ft deep on the shallow end and 7ft on the deeper end. However, loads of tiles have come off. The white grids around the pool have also come off at some places, and under them there is green algae. A kid tripped on one of the fallen off white grids and sooner or later, someone will trip on the holes. There was also a parasol stump which was left lying around, what with its exposed sharp and rusty metal. Noone seemed to see the danger in that, so we had to ask them to move it away for safety reasons. Moreover, the side tables around the pool have paint cracking everywhere, and noone seems to see how unsightly that is. A family near us had their food brought to them and placed on one of the bigger wooden side tables, only for the table top to give in and fall because of the weight of the plates, bringing some food down with it. The balcony rails from the restaurant are also not properly screwed in, the rails literally shake. My daughter was watching the boats from there, and the manager came to tell us to not lean on the rails because they are loose. So bizarre that they actually know that balcony rails are loose, but do nothing about it. As if telling people to not lean on their is around. No health and safety standards at all. Don't even get me started on the public bathrooms. Old, filthy and the people who clean them don't actually know what clean means. What is crazy is that when there are no order requests, the staff are mostly hanging around doing nothing, when there is actually so much handy work they could be doing to make sure things are in order. Zero proactively whatsoever. Food: Most things on the menu were not available, including full fish. How can a seafront hotel be out of fish? They also didn't have much in terms of wine, almost everything one the wine list was not available. Perhaps it's a good idea for the hotel to throw out the old menu cards and print out new accurate menus... Two people in our party had their dinner served in cracked and chipped bowls. When we asked the wait staff if they use these bowls with mzungus, their answer was no. Just to clarify, this question was asked because throughout the day we would see that the staff were treating us and other black Africans differently to how they were treating mzungus and foreigners. My husband was major pissed in and went into the kitchen with his sister to talk to whoever was in charge. The kitchen was filthy, counter top a petri dish for germs, topped up with cockroaches running around. My sister in law could not eat her pizza after that. I only ate because I was taking anti malaria medication. Don't go to this place if you care about your health and want to have

Conference Room was cool and so was the learning experience. The cool environment, with the Ocean view and dining facilities was good to make our stay comfortable. You may chose to have a variety of entertainment like music and swimming to add to the flavour.
