When traveling to Datong, you absolutely must stay inside the ancient town! The atmosphere inside and outside the ancient town is completely different; the ancient town itself is like a giant, immersive ancient fairytale world. This guesthouse is located on the edge of the main street of the ancient town, making it easy to get around by taxi, and there are electric scooters nearby for convenient transportation. Most of the famous restaurants and attractions are also located within the ancient town. The rooms are fully equipped with amenities such as a smart toilet, hairdryer, slippers, and toiletries, and the double room is spacious and very comfortable. The owner and manager are both very welcoming.

This was my second business trip to Datong, and I chose this guesthouse again. This time, I also took the opportunity to explore the ancient city. I was very satisfied with the scenic spots and restaurants recommended by the owner. Most importantly, I was able to appreciate a different kind of Northern Wei culture. Datong is truly a city with a rich history. I definitely need to come back again to experience all of Datong's scenery. As for the environment and hygiene, they were as clean and tidy as last time. Most importantly, the owner's friendliness and service attitude really made me feel flattered. I must give it a good review.

The hotel seems to have opened last year, and it's excellent. It's in a great location in the old town, just steps away from the north gate of Renhefang. The environment is elegant and comfortable; the small garden is cozy and quiet. The rooms, from the sheets and blankets to the towels, are all very clean and tidy. The owner is warm, handsome, and provides excellent service. Highly recommended.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! The room has a warm, inviting color scheme, the bed is incredibly soft and comfortable, the bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, and there's plenty of hot water. The breakfast buffet is also excellent, with a huge variety of choices, and the service is attentive. It was a truly enjoyable stay!

Rooms are hard to book during the Spring Festival, so I booked this guesthouse with some trepidation, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. The owner was very considerate and contacted me in advance to discuss my arrival time and the time I would be entering the old town. He waited for me by the roadside early and helped with parking and check-in. The room was clean and cozy, and the blankets smelled of sunshine. It felt warm and welcoming, like being at home. I would recommend it to my friends.

Facilities: Relatively advanced, with smart facilities; drinking water is supplied by a water purifier. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: Relatively quiet, located within the old town; parking is available in the underground parking lot. Service: The owners, a husband and wife, are very welcoming.

For two days in early 2026, I invited friends to Pingcheng to experience the ancient winds and explore the rich cultural heritage. I was fortunate to stay in this elegant and comfortable place, allowing for a leisurely and pleasant journey. I quietly appreciated the ancient charm of this land: five thousand years of history at Coal Hill, thirty thousand hectares of misty rain over the Sanggan River, the Liao Dynasty's cultural heritage nurtured by Datong, and the outstanding people and spirit of Yunzhong. The stone Buddhas of Yungang Grottoes embody the heroic spirit of the Tuoba clan, the ancient temples' bracket sets hold the essence of the Liao and Jin dynasties, the ancient city walls recall the past of the borderlands, and the Shahu Pass records the glory of Shanxi merchants. The children's cheerful songs and the heartwarming knife-cut noodles, along with the ancient buildings of Pingcheng that tell tales of time, and the gentle breeze that speaks of history—a perfect combination of beautiful scenery and a comfortable home, making the trip truly worthwhile.

Very satisfied. The room was very clean and the environment was nice. Located inside the ancient city wall, it's conveniently close to various attractions, making travel extremely easy. I would recommend this place to friends visiting Shanxi.
