Yishui Homestay(Drum Town)

The room is absolutely beautiful, designed in a vintage style with gorgeous chests of drawers and wardrobes. They asked us what time we'd like breakfast and prepared it for 7:00 AM, even though breakfast is officially advertised from 7:30 AM. The staff are very responsive. The only downside was that we had a hard time finding the hotel. The sign is only in Chinese, and it just looks like a closed wooden door. Staff from a neighboring hotel actually helped us find it. That's a minor inconvenience, but otherwise, everything was wonderful! It's a great option for a couple of nights right in the heart of Datong.

This charming guesthouse offers a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the bustling city. Its location is absolutely perfect, with lots of creative little shops that my kids adored just outside the door. The staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly thoughtful and patient. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

Thanks to the owner for the complimentary upgrade, which saved us the trouble of moving our bags. We'd love to come back if we get the chance.

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed. The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready. I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

The owner contacted us ahead of time and was very friendly and helpful. They provided essentially all the amenities we needed. The highlight was the generous and delicious breakfast, and the courtyard offered a charming view. As I was checking out, I even got to pick an apple from the owner's apple tree to eat – what a lovely touch! I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Datong.

The property is fully equipped with amenities and impeccably clean, from the bright windows to the dust-free surfaces. The quaint and elegant courtyard is a highlight. While conveniently located near the bustling city, it remains a tranquil and peaceful haven. The service was exceptionally warm and attentive, truly making us feel right at home.

The location is superb, right within the ancient city. For those driving, parking is available at the Nine Dragon Wall parking lot, just a 100-meter walk away. Despite being in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Guandi Temple is also conveniently located nearby. The service was excellent, and breakfast was quite good too. Both the owner and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although the May Day holiday prices were significantly higher than usual, the convenience made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

A vacation should be about enjoying the B&B service, but unfortunately, the service here really needs improvement. We extended our stay, but even then, basic amenities like bottled water, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toilet paper were not replenished. I reminded the staff twice before our room was cleaned, yet I still found myself without shampoo when showering, and later, no toilet paper when using the bathroom. Each time, I had to go and ask for these essential items. It was quite frustrating to constantly chase after basic supplies.

A quiet and cozy courtyard guesthouse. The owner maintains the place exceptionally well. The rooms are spotlessly clean, beautiful, and stylishly decorated. The fruit trees in the courtyard were full of fruit, which felt like a wonderful symbol of good fortune and prosperity for its guests. I absolutely loved my stay and will definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Datong Ancient City.
