Excellent location, so much great food in Datong!

This guesthouse has a fantastic location, quiet yet conveniently located. Just a few meters from the corner of Gulou East Street, there's absolutely no noise, only birdsong and the fragrance of flowers! I slept wonderfully! It was renovated last year, so it's very new, clean, and odor-free. The water pressure in the bathroom is excellent. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, assisting with everything, no matter how small! I would recommend it to friends, and I would definitely stay here again whenever I visit Datong!

Surroundings: Located within the ancient city, it's convenient to visit attractions like the Drum Tower, Nine-Dragon Wall, and Shanhua Temple. Dining options are also plentiful, with many restaurants serving Shanxi cuisine, including noodle shops and shaomai. Facilities: Excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Heating was already on in Datong on the 12th, so we could also use the air conditioning, making the room very warm. The bathroom was very clean, with a separate shower and toilet. They even provided a toilet seat cover, a thoughtful touch. Cleanliness: Very good and clean. Environment: A very convenient location within the ancient city. Easy to find using navigation. Service: The staff member was very attentive and considerate, specifically mentioning road construction near the entrance. They came out to pick us up when we arrived by taxi.

One stay and you'll be a repeat customer! My stay in Datong completely exceeded my expectations—not only was the location fantastic, with the Drum Tower East Street food street right outside and Huayan Temple just a 10-minute walk away, but the Nine Dragon Wall and Prince Dai's Mansion were also just a few minutes away around the corner. During the day, after visiting Wanhua Temple, I could easily stroll back to my courtyard to rest, and in the evening, I could walk to the ancient city wall to see the lantern festival. But what truly convinced me to "come back next time" was the owner's thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality. From the moment we checked in, the owner acted like a close friend: knowing we wanted to try local cuisine, he proactively booked a table at Kaige Restaurant for us, saving us the trouble of waiting in line; before exploring the ancient city, he explained details like "which cold noodles are the most authentic" and "where to see the city wall lanterns at night," proving more useful than any travel guide. The accommodation itself didn't disappoint either; the room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the antique decor blended perfectly with the ancient city atmosphere. If you're looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience in Datong, this is the place to go—next time I'll head straight here with my luggage!

I had a very comfortable stay this time. The courtyard house was quite quiet, and it was convenient to go out. It only took a few minutes to get to Southeast Village, and a short walk of about ten minutes to the bus station. The landlord was very nice and considerate. Staying in the courtyard house was very interesting. The lighting was great when I came back at night, and the owner also had an orange cat.

The guesthouse owner should be more familiar with local travel guides and itineraries.

The rooms are spacious and have a classic, antique feel. The inn's service is excellent, with a fresh fruit platter every day; the only downside is the lack of a refrigerator in the room. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, always willing to assist with any needs. The inn's location is superb, with nearby attractions all within a 10-15 minute walk. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip to Datong.
