Dusit Thani Residence Davao

From the moment we arrived at Dusit Thani Residence Davao, we felt welcomed and well-taken care of. The lobby, though modest in size, exuded a calm charm and the check-in process was smooth. We were greeted warmly by staff who treated us with genuine hospitality — their attentiveness set the tone for our entire stay. Many previous guests also praised the staff’s politeness and readiness to help.  We stayed in a studio apartment, and it was nothing short of comfortable. The room came with a kitchenette, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, and free WiFi — extremely convenient whether you’re staying briefly or planning a longer stay.  The modern fittings and thoughtful layout made it easy to relax or be productive: there was enough space to move around, and everything was clean and well-kept. Cleanliness, indeed, stood out during our stay — a point frequently echoed by other guests.  One of the highlights was the leisure amenities. We took full advantage of the outdoor swimming pool — a serene little oasis perfect for a morning dip or evening unwind. The fitness centre, spa, and wellness offerings added to the sense of pampering. For those traveling with kids or family, there’s even a kids’ pool and a family-friendly vibe.  Breakfast and dining at the hotel also deserve special mention. The buffet breakfast was generous and satisfying — a great way to start a busy day in Davao. For lunch or dinner, the on-site restaurant served a mix of Thai, Asian, international, and European dishes, giving a variety that could cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.  The presence of a café and even a pastry/deli option made it easy to grab a light meal or snack without leaving the property.  Location is another strong suit for Dusit Thani Residence. It’s conveniently located near the airport, which is a big plus if you have early flights or late arrivals.  At the same time, it’s still close enough to city amenities, shopping, and other attractions — offering both convenience and comfort. Many guests appreciated this balance of accessibility and tranquility.  That said, no stay is perfect, and a few aspects could be improved. Some guests mentioned that certain rooms felt a bit cramped or that balcony areas were under-utilized due to cleanliness concerns.  There were occasional gripes about maintenance — for example, shower drains draining slowly or small furniture quirks — and a few found the elevator access between towers a bit awkward, especially if coming from parking.  A minority even felt the place fell short of 5-star expectations in certain respects.  Still, for us, these were minor blemishes compared to the overall positive experience. What stood out was how the hotel blends comfort, convenience, and courteous service with enough extras to feel like more than just a “place to sleep.” The pool, spa, and kitchen-equipped rooms make it a strong choice for families, couples, business travellers — essentially anyone who values a balance of luxury and practicality. A birthday present for my mother! Then the earthquake happened. The staff were very helpful most especially we had a 4 months old baby and a two year old! They did their best despite people panicking. They kept their calm! The family was glad we chose Dusit Thani again and again. Thanks a lot Dusit!

Pros - clean comfortable room - near the cost line with view over the channel - super polite staff - great family pool area - used to the place being full so it’s organised extremely well - 24 hour room service Cons - no concierge to greet new guests getting out of taxis - No one to show you to your room! Have to find your own way. - loud banging doors waking guests very early in the morning due to neighbours from doors next to one another (see pictures) - bird poo all over the windows (see pictures) - breakfast buffet was just okay.. self service coffee and not great food. A decent hotel but somewhat ruined by poor welcome and the early morning noise of other guests. Ask for a quiet rooms.

For the 3rd time booking in Dusit Thani to celebrate a bday, We bought foods and small lechon to be consumed inside our room, but this time around they asked us a corkage of p5,000 for lechon, i told them that we will consume the food inside d room not in the restaurant but insisted us to pay the corkage fee. I read their room policy, only DURIAN food is not allowed to carry, other than that we assumed its ok, because it was not our 1st time to bring lechon. Asking for a corkage fee but did not even give a receipt.

The lobby is pretty small. The music in the evening not too good. The room service is not thoroughly. The windows were very dirty. Check-in counter is pretty small as well as the receiving area. The pool and the gym are fine but the space is confined. The room service food is okay. They have a Starbucks-certified coffee shop. Large basement parking. The location is not at the seaside. Azuela High Street is near and SM LaNang. There was only one bed side cabinet which is not acceptable for a 5 -star Hotel. The room furnituring is not optimized, it gives a squeezed atmosphere.

My stay was pleasant and I will highly recommend this hotel for other travellers. Food was very good and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
