This guesthouse has an excellent location, only 400 meters from the waterfall scenic area, which saves you the money for a sightseeing shuttle and, more importantly, a lot of time. The breakfast was even better than what you'd buy outside, and the room was very clean and spacious. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful; we didn't have time for the complimentary afternoon tea, so they gave us three packs of Vietnamese coffee to take with us instead. I genuinely recommend this place!

EE. Ch.Amazing stay at Yunlu. Amazing service from the wonderful staff. Extremely quiet location. Beautiful scenery around. Great breakfast (no buffet). Large rooms with great views. Even a small pool (more for children).
I cannot say enough good things about the amazing service that the staff provided. Joyous staff. Good feelings. Not much English spoken (well basically none as is usual in China based on my experience) but with the help of the various apps and a positive attitude this is practically not a real issue. It can even be fun. Anyway they fulfilled all my requests and more than that (incl. for the breakfast as I suffer from diabetes) and always made sure I was happy and enjoying my stay.
The rooms I had (2 stays) were very large. The air conditioning was very efficient and silent. The views were so enjoyable (yes out there in Mingshi there are better views of course but still). The large bed was very comfortable. Big sofa, tables, chairs ... and a lot of space. Nice bathroom with good shower. A fridge was available and included some ”free” drinks.
I found the location perfect as it is not in the village itself but on the other side of the little river. So it is very quiet. A very short drive to the village and even walking requires no more than 30 minutes.
Restaurants are only available in the village and bike rentals are way cheaper in the village too. I would certainly not recommend the local shop close to the hotel for rentals as the deals proposed are absurd (well prices the owner articulated were simply exorbitant).
I will definitely return to Mingshi as I loved the region and there is so much to discover. I will quite certainly look no further than the Yunlu. Location. Peacefulness. But above all because of the extraordinary customer friendly attitude and the good spirit of the ”team”.

11860078****I'm the kind of person who came to Guangxi for a whole month just for the amazing view from the Lux Chongzuo!
The hotel is a 15-minute bike ride from Yu Lin Ba, which is quite small, but great for a workout. Detian Transnational Waterfall isn't far by car either, very convenient! But the hotel itself offers the best views.
The room was fully equipped. When the front desk lady saw I was going cycling, she prepared sunscreen, mosquito repellent, anti-itch cream, bottled water, and an umbrella… It felt like the warm gesture of family packing a small bag for a trip. There were welcome snacks and champagne, and the daily fruit and mini-bar were replenished promptly. Even better, there were sweet soups and desserts around 6 PM. (Eating like this, I definitely gained a few pounds!)
I stayed for 5 nights and tried 3 restaurants. The Thai restaurant was the best; the Tom Yum Goong and Pad Krapow Moo were incredibly delicious! The pastry chef here is my favorite; I'd blindly order anything pistachio-flavored. Breakfast was a bit repetitive, semi-buffet style with à la carte options. Every day, I alternated between Luosifen and Laoyoufen.
The laundry room was very convenient. It was actually empty all day during the daytime, so avoid going at night when everyone else crowds in. The pool view is stunning, and I swam for an hour every day, which was refreshing. So, I didn't even bother with the gym.
I booked the bamboo raft ride from 5 PM to 6 PM, and the scenery was beautiful. The afternoon tea was also delicious, especially the pink non-alcoholic champagne, which was so good we ordered two more bottles.
We did a travel photoshoot, thanks to Earl Travel Photography for taking such amazing photos – truly life-changing! I selected over 50 retouched photos.
There was an incident where the entire village experienced a power outage, and I only slept for 3 hours on the first night. However, I was able to contact the front desk staff on duty even in the middle of the night. They responded promptly and helped by providing information, unlike what some others have said about not being able to reach staff. I reached them even at 4 AM.
Finally, a suggestion: regarding staff not remembering guests, this is something I haven't encountered at other hotels of this caliber. We usually stay at least 4 nights or more at every resort (including in other countries), and typically by the second or third day, the hotel staff at breakfast and other restaurants remember guests and don't keep asking for our room number. But on our last night, when we enthusiastically greeted a restaurant staff member we'd chatted with quite a bit before, she had forgotten us! She even reminded us that the breakfast restaurant for the next day was also there… It was both frustrating and amusing. Of course, this isn't an isolated incident; it seems that aside from managers and butlers, most staff don't remember guests.

DDr_wang.Catching the tail end of the summer holidays, I compared a few guesthouses and finally opted for Changliushanju. While the 1700 price point felt a bit steep, its natural setting by the mountains and water was undoubtedly stunning, and the air even carried the scent of the fields.
As for the environment, it's quite good for a guesthouse. With over 100 rooms, it’s not a chain, yet many of its facilities are designed to chain standards. Unfortunately, the staffing seemed inadequate; cleaning was very slow. There's also a gym, but it has limited equipment and confusing signage, so I had to wander around just to figure things out. On the bright side, the front desk service was excellent. The young gentleman in the lobby was particularly enthusiastic. My car tire went flat right as I entered the property, and he helpfully provided a contact number and carried my bags to the room.
However, the room still had a faint, rather overwhelming musty smell, clearly indicating dampness.
The restaurant's food was decent overall. The passion fruit ribs, however, were served cold, and after being fried, the ribs themselves were particularly tough. The sweet and sour flavor was acceptable. The roast chicken and stir-fried beef were quite good and paired well with rice.
I also noticed that the complimentary bedtime sweet soup mentioned on Xiaohongshu was nowhere to be found. And the farewell gift after check-out had apparently been downgraded to just small cookies?
Given the inflated price, I doubt I'll be staying here again.

EEatPrayTravelAll staff members, from manager, front desk lady and the cleaning team were all very helpful and super friendly, which made our stay very pleasant. The location of the hotel is very close to the falls, making it very convenient to visit. Since it was slow season when we were there, the hotel manager was able to provide courtesy drop off and pick up service to the waterfalls which was very much appreciated. Room was very spacious, clean and the beds very comfortable. Water pressure was perfect making bath time feel like a treat! We were allocated a room facing the mountains and the view was very beautiful, especially at sunset, one can sit back and enjoy the magic hour. Lovely stay!!

A highlight was the rooftop infinity pool, which offered stunning views – it truly felt like swimming in a picturesque painting. My only small complaint is that there were guesthouses still under construction in the immediate vicinity, making the area a bit messy and chaotic.

It is very cost-effective to come here in the off-season, and it is suitable for relaxing. The room is also very large, the shower gel smells very high-end, and the hair dryer is a Dyson, which is a thumbs up. The proprietress is very enthusiastic and told us about the nearby activities. Overall, it is great! Will recommend friends

EEatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.

TTravelwULove at first sight. The view from our rooms was beautiful. The rooms were tastefully furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Clean sheets and towels. Modern amenities. The automatic toilet bowl was amazing. I wished I had one at home in Malaysia. We enjoyed the breakfasts. I am good with the healthy options and free flow of soy milk. I suggest using the ceramic bowl for the hot soy milk instead of the plastic bowls provided. Do bring your own hot water flask. Hot water dispenser available.We had all our meals in the hotel. The food was delicious. Do try the free range chicken with mushroom soup. Very comforting. Our morning walk in the village was lovely. Plenty of vegetable farms. Mr. Wei, the manager was very attentive and friendly. He offered to ferry us to Detian waterfalls for a fee as there were no taxi or e-hailing. Overall, we had a pleasant and wonderful two day stay. Highly recommended.
PS. Do close the two small windows behind the curtains for better noise insulation.
