Lake House Daylesford

UNDERWHEMING experience from the moment we arrived. It is not a 2-hat restaurant, massage was not what advertised nor worth the price tag. Wait staff were rude, meals average. O expected to be overwhelmed with what it costed for 3 nights. Will not go back and do not recommend. Save your money, go elsewhere.

What a lovely country hotel. A beautiful room with a lovely bathroom and a super comfortable bed with a gorgeous view over the lake. Very well furnished. The grounds and common areas are very well looked after. All the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and very professional. Breakfast and particularly dinner was superb. Highly recommended!

During our weekend gourmet escape, I visited the Lake House Spa for a massage. Extraordinary - luxury - complete relaxation. I had the best, most beneficially therapeutic, relaxing massage I have ever had anywhere in the world. Lake House Spa was something very special. Thank you so much, Michael.

I ventured to Daylesford for my, what I call, F-wording Fabulous 50th based on finding a French restaurant during a Google search. I booked an experience at the Lake House Spa and upon the recommendation of a friend, booked in for lunch at the Lake House Restaurant as well. The spa experience was absolutely divine and led me to book in for two more spa experiences during my stay. The restaurant was also absolutely perfect! The food was delicious, the 'I Am Ruby' cocktail heavenly and the experience all-round, just perfect. And my love for the magicians in the Lake House Spa... They have all been absolutely wonderful! I look forward to returning to Daylesford and enjoying all the Lake House has to offer once again.

Lovely location on Lake Daylesford. Highly recommend booking a room with a view of the lake. The rooms are very comfortable. A highlight is definitely the food at the restaurant.

One of the most enjoyable properties we have stayed at in recent years

Excellent experience from booking to checking out! Highly recommend. My daughter and I stayed at Lake House in mid December. Booking prices was smooth,subsequent communication regular and clear. Our 4course dinner was wonderful - quality outstanding with all menu options enticing. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Ambience is gracious and innovative, especially featured lighting installations with beautiful Christmas decorations added.

We loved our 3 night stay, both the hotel itself and the environs. Daylesford is a delightful small town with many historic buildings, just a short walk from the hotel. Our beautiful suite had a view over the small lake (first floor) and a lovely big balcony from which to enjoy the view and the peace. The food was excellent, our package included dinner in the restaurant 2 nights and in our room on 1 night. The restaurant food was very sophisticated, the dinner in the room more homely.

We attended for 3 days with visitors from California, WA,VIC and NSW. In the lead up to our event our events coordinator Ella provided an extremly high level of service and advice, guiding us through a range of options for our conference room, dining options and local points of interest. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and all shown to our delightful rooms. The rooms are tastfully and sumptuously appointed are not the largest but they have a wonderful balcony with views to the lake. Due to the cold weather the heated bath room floors were a welcome surprise. Our conference room of day one was upgraded to teh Lake room. Thank you Ella. Dinning for the first two nights of our stay were in the Private Cellar room, which if you have a larger party I would higly recommend for the intimacy ,atmoshpere and service. Our server , Mary, was extremely attentive yet discrete . The wine selection is simply staggering. Our first night was a 3 course shared platter . Highlights were the Cofit kig trout salad- out of this world . Our second night had a high bar to meet - we should not have doubted the chef and the team. A four course menue that included Spencer Gulf King fish, Frazer Island Spaner crab, sea**** enriched Koshihikari rice,Black Bershire pork loin and Azelia chocolate mose for desert. On day two of our conference we all took advantage of a break out to tour the Dairy Flat Farm for a paddock to plate experience which is complimentary for guests. Highly recommended and informative. Setting us up for our final nights dinner in the the main restaurant. Again we felt that we had already reached PEAK LAKE HOUSE. We were wrong. The five course tasing menu was simply sublime, almost beyond words. Almost every plate included ingrediants sourced via their own farm. We also took advantage of their wine recommendations for each course , each of which were perfect. Several food highlight, Sher 9+ wagu with spring onion,hoseradish,purple sprouting broccoli 7 balck garlic. Billat-Savarin -truley amazing and the desert cresendo - The Apple . Do not miss this.
