Hotels Near Paepehof Kinderboerderij EEtkafee Bakatelier in De Panne

We hebben hier één nacht verbleven na last minute boeken op een drukke dag. Het onthaal was afstandelijk en administratief. Kamer hadden we al betaald via een site, maar nu ook moesten we dadelijk het ontbijt betalen. Wat wij gewoonlijk doen bij het uitchecken. Alles verliep zonder veel uitleg. We sliepen in een nieuwe vleugel van het hotel dat toch nog wat afwerking nodig heeft. Losse tegels in de gang, blote betonmuren. Onze kamer was er één met zicht op tuin. De tuin bestond uit een lege grote gang met in het midden een betonpad. De tuin is één groot klankgat als de andere gasten praten of honden blaffen; Gelukkig gebeurde dit enkel tijdens de namiddag. Er zijn wel stoeltjes om buiten te zitten, maar je zit wel vrij kort op mekaar dan. 's Nachts was het stil en de bedden, matrassen en kussens zijn goed zoals het hoort. Er was een koffiemachine aanwezig met 2 capsules per persoon. De badkamer met regendouche was zeer net en nieuw, al zag je daar ook in een hoek nog een spleet met isolatieschuim. Bij het ontbijt was er spek en ei, een groot assortiment koffiekoeken, geen spiegelei of zalm bv. Al bij al is dit een mooi hotel, maar voor de prijs die ze vragen mogen ze wel wat meer op de details letten. Het onthaal en ook bediening, beantwoorden van vragen tijdens het ontbijt was koel en afstandelijk. Voor de prijs die we betaalden hadden we meer verwacht. Vermoedelijk gaan we hier niet meer terug.

The location of the hotel was a little difficult for us, we had seen that we were almost 2 km from the centre of Nieuwpoort and the nearby tram stop. Parking at the hotel's site was found to cost €17 per day,€0.80 per hour,we have been wisely thanked for it and put our car along the street ( free) Nothing was noticeable at the hotel, everything was okay,but it was allowed for the price we paid in the whole season (first half of August) Breakfast is €18 per person and per day ...but was extended and constantly was filled up everything, only sad that the English breakfast was as good as cold, apparently the heat retention plate does not work well ( ?? ) Drinks are very expensive in the hotel, noticeably more expensive than in the centre of Nieuwpoort.

This hotel may be the most expensive hotel in Dunkirk, France, but it is also the closest hotel to the Dunkirk battlefield site and the Allied Great Retreat Museum! Hotel facilities, services, rooms, I don't need to say, the consistent high level is unquestionable, and it will not overturn! The best thing is: the beach, the beach, the war fortification wooden stake, the suspension bridge, the memory wall are all here! Staying for one night, the history here is all understood!

Les + : L'accueil très sympathique et les bons conseils de l'hôtesse d'accueil (Astrid). Merci. La situation de l'hôtel non loin du centre ville, de la gare, des stations du bus (gratuit tous les jours, chapeau bas Dunkerque). Le petit déjeuner continental copieux et d'excellente qualité. L'ascenseur est apprécié ainsi que le calme global de l'établissement. Les - : La taille de la chambre est trop petite pour une famille. Les tablettes minuscules ne permettant même pas de poser un livre. Il manque un petit meuble sous l'évier salle de bain, pas pratique pour poser ses affaires. Un petit plateau bouilloire est toujours très apprécié...dommage qu'il n'y en ait pas comme un petit frigo. Papier toilette limite....Le problème du parking....certes, il y en a un grand gratuit pas loin et du coup, j'imagine qu'en semaine cela doit être coton pour trouver une place.
