Riverwind Inn Bed and Breakfast

Stacie and Mike are two are the kindest and most hospitable hosts you'll come across. From greeting you at the door by your names, they've taken the time to get to know you a bit and offer you a relaxing and carefree stay in their beautiful inn. Every room has such intricate, homey detail and wish we were there for longer to enjoy it. Delicious breakfast with your fellow travellers and nice conversation sharing stories. I definitely plan on making a trip to come back for a longer stay.

Such a charming place! Took my mom for an overnight not too far from where she resides. Just as we pulled in, Mike greeted us by name and had me bring the car up right in front so my 97-year old mom didn’t have to walk far. We were captivated by the colonial elegance of this 1854 inn which was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was spacious and bright with all the amenities (toiletries, water). The bed was very comfortable with plush comforter, pillows and linens. Loved the fireplace in the common sitting room. Breakfast by Stacie was scrumptious—fresh fruits, frittata and blueberry muffins along with coffee and tea. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and have been spreading the good word to other friends in New England. Thank you, Mike and Stacie.

Mike and Stacie are wonderful friendly hosts. You feel so welcome and their home is beautiful. It reflects the love and kindness they put into the fabulous accommodations and the 5 star breakfast. We have stayed there a few times and never want to leave. I would recommend this lovely place anytime of the year. Within the friendly little town of Deep River to the neighboring towns of Essex and Old Saybrook you can find so much to do. Definitely a diamond of a place to stay. Donna & Ed Monahan

We’ve been to the inn several times and will continue to do so. The area around the inn is very ‘New England’ charm. We have never had a bad experience there. Mike and Stacie are wonderful hosts. They remember their guests by name and are always interested in what everyone is doing and always have great recommendations for places to eat and see.

Very lovely home with great attention to historic theme. Well-appointed, spotlessly clean rooms, filled with everything one might need. Warm and inviting hosts, amazing and delicious breakfast, reasonable cost. Loved the relaxing room with working fireplace! Would absolutely visit again.

Wonderful experience. The inn is charming, our room was comfortable and quiet, and the innkeepers are pros who made everyone feel welcome while juggling the specific quirks and preferences of a constantly changing roster of guests. It's worth seeking out and worth visiting again.

Nestled in the heart of wonderful, friendly, Deep River - this large cozy home invites return visits. Many separate sitting areas with working fireplaces, attractive rooms with comfy beds, and scrumptious gourmet breakfasts make this a top B&B choice for us. But of greatest importance is Stacie and Mike's cordial welcome and desire that guests have a fine time. The location is central to the, Ivoryton, Kate, Terris and Goodspeed playhouses, favorite restaurants, walks by the Connecticut River, and many great activities. Stacie and Mike have done an excellent job of making sure every little detail was taken care of. The place is beautiful and my daughter and I had a wonderful time. We wanted to move in, lol. The Christmas decorations were up and it was like being in a Hallmark movie.

We just enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at Riverwind, and we highly recommend! The rooms are beautiful, delicious breakfast was made each morning with locally-sourced ingredients, the hosts are charming and knowledgeable about the area. The whole place is warm and welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to relax in. Our room was spotless, bed was super comfy - we will definitely be back! Very convenient to Goodspeed Opera House, Gillette Castle, local shopping & restaurants.
