Running a lodging establishment takes a great deal of time and dedication. It can often be a twenty-four-hour a day job and customer satisfaction is extremely important. We therefore take great pains to ensure that all our guests feel at home. People who have stayed with us call our house a home away from home. Home cooked food and a homely ambience contribute towards this feeling. Located on the edge of an evergreen forest, we are in close proximity to the headquarters of the Sakyapa sect of Tibetean Buddhism. There are a plethora of Ashrams; like RamakrishnaMission, Anandmayee Ashram, Bal Yogi Ashram, Aurobindo Ashram and the Sai Baba Temple within walking distance.Dehradun is the capital city of the newly formed state of Uttarakhand. But here you will be away from the hustle and bustle of a capital city, yet just five miles from the city center. Dehradun is also a major gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. Hindus usually start their pilgrimage (Char Dham Yatra) from here. Dehradun is the home of some of the most prestigious schools of India such as The Doon School and Welham Girls' School.Show More

Loved it! It is well maintained, comfortable and spacious. Evokes a sense of nostalgia for those who have memories of family homes of yesteryears overlooking the mountains and dreamy during the rains. The rooms are big and so are the bathrooms. We took the family room and single room. You can choose from: a Family room (INR 4000 per night), a Double room (INR 3000) and a Single room (INR1500), each with its own bathroom. Views from some of the windows overlook the forest behind the house. The sit out at the back is an indulgence in itself. The balcony too has its charm with fairy lights, plants and candles. The kitchen is well-stocked for a breakfast, besides the market is close by. Cafes open for breakfast, so one may not bother. If you are up for pancakes, Renee makes lovely ones! The location on Rajpur Road makes it a practical stay option if you want to experience the city as well as opt for close proximity to Mussoorie, trekkable nearby areas, etc. We could meet ***y friends and relatives in the city. The house is right opposite Sakya Centre and it was therapeutic to start the day with ******* chants. I also enjoyed my morning run on Rajpur Road, ***** tall trees, plenty of rain birthed greenery, chic cafes, the Maa Anandmayee Ashram, Aurobindo Ashram, Ramakrishna Mission, etc. - different from running in a park in Delhi! Renee and Jayant are wonderful hosts and if you have the time, they are up for a chat - Jayant tells you about the city, cafes, treks, etc., Renee has her storehouse of home remedies and beauty ingredients - she also makes great handmade soaps. They have a dog-Bhurrie who is not only very affectionate but is a great host to visitor dogs if they can maintain a decorum of toilet ***ners and not eye Bhurrie's food! Our Indie, Nimboo had a great sisterhood time with Bhurrie! Overall, a memorable stay. Will visit again and recommend to others! Kavita Singal

This is our by-default place of stay during our visit to Dehradun. Located on the most clam and peaceful road - opp. Sakya (Buddhist Monastery) and near Sai Temple with no heavy traffic of the town. The hosts no-doubt are the best you could ask for. They take care of the minor details to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Anything you need - all you have to do is ask and they go to all lengths to ensure they fulfill the requirements if within their means. Overall a very satisfying experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed at the Homestay during the monsoons. It was a wonderful experience. The owners Jayant and Renee made it even better with their warmth. It just never felt we were meeting them for the first time. The view overlooking the valley was something that people from the metro cities will love as they can experience the different shades of green. Also they make natural home made soaps which are a must buy.

My husband and I spent 3 weeks with Renee and Gyant at Shri Krishna Guest House. We were very comfortable and Renee and Gyant went out of their way to make it a home away from home. Renee's Indian cooking is delicious! She is a top cook! We will definitely stay there again when we return to India from Sydney Australia.

I stayed here while I visited Uttarakhand briefly. It's an excellent place and the hosts are quite friendly. The food is great and it's also in an excellent locality in Dehradun! It's on Rajpur road -- the city is one way and Mussoorie is the other way.
