Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort & Spa

Check in was easy. They only have valet parking with in and out privileges. I received a Welcome glass of champagne. Room: I was in room 454. It was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. It had a little sitting area with a table. I will say that I encountered a few hiccups when I arrived. They were fixed pretty quickly. I didn’t report the AC, but it would get very humid in the room. I didn’t feel like it was working properly. The room was equipped with a Keurig and a fridge. The Keurig had k cups of coffee, decaf coffee, and tea. You do get bottled water in the room. It is replenished daily. Bathroom: I liked that the sink was outside of the bathroom. The Bathroom was separated by a door. The Bathroom was also spacious and clean. The towels were nice and thick. I love the bathrobes that they provided. The toiletries smelled great. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and bar soap. They also had a little box with cotton swabs and a nail file. The water pressure was great and there was always hot water available. I noticed that they did not have an iron in the room, but I called and they brought it up within a few minutes. They also offered to bring in a microwave. I thought that was super nice. Balcony: the room did have a small balcony with two chairs and a table. It had a partial view of the ocean, but my room was mostly view of the parking lot. The blackout curtains worked great. Pool: the pool was amazing. There was always plenty of lounge chairs. They do stick with the rule of no holding chairs. They also have a covered area with tables and chairs where you can just hang out. They provide towels and water. I also noticed they had some block available for you for free. The attendant walked around, making sure that everyone had what they needed and there was also a waitress that could take your order. Cookies and fruit on were available on each floor daily. Bagged ice was available as well. Gym: it was clean with plenty of machines to include treadmills and weights. They also have free weights available for use. The gym was big. They had towels and water available for use. I like that you had to use your room key to get in, so I felt a little safer exercising at five in the morning. Restaurants: the property has a few areas where you can eat. They have two bars. The rooftop bar is pretty nice. I had a drink, but no food on the property. They do have happy hour specials. You could also order room service or order pick up from one of the restaurants. The hotel is right across the street from the beach. It is also walking distance to all the stores on the main street. There’s a few restaurants right out on the street or you can walk 10 to 15 minutes to the major area with restaurants and stores. If you’re staying longer and want to get some snacks or groceries, there is a Trader Joe’s less than 10 minutes away via a car. Check out was fast and easy. They were able to hold my luggage.

The Opal Grand Oceanfront Delray is an awesome location, pristine ocean beaches right across A1A, lots of great local fun shopping and restaurants - everything in walking distance. However, you don’t really need to leave the hotel as it has amazingly great restaurants for breakfast or dinner, several cools bars - indoors and outside rooftop. The ambiance, decor and tasty foods of these on premises venues are so compelling you may not want to leave the hotel during your stay, except of course to visit the beach. The renovation a few years back transformed this already beautiful place into a truly wonderful and unique stay. And of course there is more, such as the pool, little boutique store and spa. We have been traveling to this hotel for over a decade now and truly continue to enjoy it every time. Occasionally the are deals that make this marvel even more attractive.

We came to the Opal for a short. ladies trip and had a blast. Our server Ashley was awesome. She literally made the entire experience next level. She offered excellent customer service suggested all the right drinks. She had the best attitude and demeanor and made our experience next level.

Every aspect of our Girl’s Birthday Weekend was fabulous starting with an upgrade to a 3 bedroom villa, a wonderful spa after noon and a delicious dinner at Drift. The service and staff were beyond good. Cannot wait to return.

Directly across the street from the Atlantic ocean in Delray Beach Florida, this stunning resort is absolutely wonderful. Everyone is friendly, professional and treats you with respect. Within walking distance are many restaurants and shops. The rooms are large and comfortable with turn down service in the evening. Very clean and very quiet. They offer free snacks (cookies and fruit) at the ice machine room. Unfortunately, there is no free parking. You must use the valet, found out that is common in Palm Beach county. Restaurants at resort are very good and fairly priced. Wait staff is probably the best I've experienced. I went with a friend who stayed there 2 years ago and we didn't research any other place to stay. Would definitely stay there again.

I’ve been coming here for 14 years and it’s nice to know the wait staff hasn’t changed. Ashley and Sylvia are the absolute best. Always smiling and happy to be at work. Dave and Brooke great bartenders. Mike at waves is great. Ricky is so funny. Iryna is a hard worker. Shannon is an amazing manager.

I’ll start by saying this: I hate wasting time writing bad reviews. I would much rather talk about a great experience, but this will not be one of them. My wife and I rarely get to travel together, and when we do, we choose higher end places. The Opal Resorts lobby had us feeling confident. It looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and felt like a real vacation. We arrived late, slept, and stepped onto the deck the next morning, only to find something that looked more like a New York City fire escape. It was narrow, awkward, and overlooked a roof. We politely asked to switch rooms. We packed, moved, grabbed breakfast at the Beach Market Cafe, which was excellent, and returned to find a puddle of water forming under a dripping air conditioning vent in the ceiling. The attached vent also appeared to have black mold. Back to the front desk for another polite request to move. There are 2 videos uploaded showing the water dripping, as well as a vent with black mold that didn't load properly. Management has viewed and is in receipt of the videos. By then, we had also learned the elevator issues were not user error. Other guests were having the same problem with room cards and wristbands not registering, forcing people to switch elevators just to reach their floors. The wood trim outside the elevators looked worn and dirty, and the brass clearly needed attention. And so we moved for the third time in twenty four hours. To reach that third room, we had to walk past an abandoned ice room that was a complete eyesore. I was embarrassed walking guests past it. Later, the same very pleasant woman who checked us in asked how our stay was going. She had no idea what had been happening. I showed her the photos and video, and she said someone would follow up. We asked for (embarrassing) a small voucher to at least acknowledge the inconvenience. We received a 2 drink voucher, tried to use it at Drift, which was beautiful and had great staff, and then learned it did not cover a non alcoholic beer. You truly cannot make this up. I reached out again six days later (today) and received a generic message thanking me for my feedback and promising it would be passed along. Before you book here, make sure your pool or ocean view is not actually a view over a roof. Confirm that the elevators are working properly and ask whether any construction or abandoned rooms are still visible. This was such an easy situation to fix, and management just completely dropped the ball. Blatant disregard for very basic customer service.

I booked Opal Grand through the American Express Hotel Collection as an Amex Platinum cardholder. I arrived early fully understanding that my room might not yet be ready. The issue was never the wait — it was the complete lack of hospitality and professionalism throughout the experience. None of the Amex benefits tied to the reservation were proactively acknowledged, interactions felt transactional, and after asking about the benefits I was simply handed a sealed envelope and told to read it myself. Meanwhile, other guests appeared to receive a noticeably warmer welcome experience. By the time I was finally notified that a room was available, I no longer felt comfortable staying at the property and chose to leave despite forfeiting my deposit. Most disappointing was that no manager ever spoke with me directly — not before I left and not afterward. Even the follow-up came only from front desk staff and focused on operational explanations rather than the actual guest experience concerns being raised. Beautiful property, but the service culture fell far below expectations for a hotel affiliated with the American Express Hotel Collection.

Jodi was our server for Breakfast. She was very personable and a pleasure to speak with. My wife and I had a great experience all around, beautiful resort and great staff.
