So we have stayed at this hotel 30 times a year for the past few years. We stayed on December 9 and then December 15, which that night we were moved across the parking to another hotel owned by the same owner.
First negative experience in over 100 stays. We were excited for our trip. The short, gray-haired sweater-wearing man, checked us in. Upon entering our room, we found lets say a small insect. We brought it to him and he tired to tell me it was a wasp. It was not a wasp, it was much smaller and no stinger. Having stayed so many times and always enjoyed our stay, we said, well its just one and we should be ok. Nope, we took these insects to Mexico with us!
I wanted to change rooms but he told me no. Then, on December 15th, we were moved to the Comfort Inn, which yes is much nicer. But the reasoning is because the owner decided to make the MainStay and Sleep Inn into a project and slum house for immigrants. When we pulled up there were about 50 in the lobby and another 50 outside smoking. In at the Comfort Inn I felt unsafe. The male person that checked us in that night was so sweet. The night auditor was quite an ankle bone, refusing to give me the gray haired mans name. I one point he was over there and we got into an argument. Furious he yelled at me saying he worked in the hotel industry for 30 years. My degree is Hospitality. The ankle girl and him should be fired ASAP.
This area is no longer safe. Do not park a car!
