First off, the guesthouse is incredibly close to the bus station; you can literally see it as soon as you arrive. However, their rooms are on the second floor, and my friend and I were struggling with our luggage. To our surprise, a young woman came over and effortlessly carried both our suitcases upstairs – at an altitude of over 3000 meters, our bags were far from light, but she took one in each hand!
The guesthouse facilities are incredibly comprehensive. They provide everything you could possibly need, with remarkable attention to detail, even disposable toiletries!
The guesthouse seems to be family-run. It was raining when we arrived, and the hostess kindly reminded us to take one of their umbrellas from the entrance before heading out. Seeing the heavy rain, we decided to eat at the guesthouse (yes, they offer both lodging and meals). The hostess, worried we might not be accustomed to local cuisine, kept checking in to see if we needed anything. Their dishes are all home-cooked, with generous portions of meat and eggs; two dishes were more than enough for two people. She even brought us a bowl of her homemade chicken soup. We weren't craving hotpot at the time, but I bet their chicken soup hotpot would be amazing.
At 5 AM, when we left to see the snow-capped mountains, we saw the host already preparing breakfast. A man of few words, he quietly focused on his task.
This family is truly wonderful. We'll certainly return here on our next trip to see the snow mountains! So grateful for this encounter!

We requested an extra blanket but were refused, with the explanation that they had already supplied what was necessary. This was despite the hotel not being fully booked and having plenty of availability. They also incorrectly claimed it was against policy for three of us to stay in one room, even though we had actually booked two rooms (one with twin beds, one with a king). The room lighting was so poor that I had to use my phone's flashlight just to operate the kettle. Around 7 AM, I tried calling the front desk multiple times to inquire about the weather and whether we'd be able to see the 'Rizhao Jinshan' (Golden Mountain at sunrise), but no one picked up. What truly baffled me was the bizarre business philosophy proudly displayed at the front desk. The very next day, I received truly exceptional service at a different establishment. This was by far the most disappointing hotel experience during my entire 6-day stay in Shangri-La.

Strongly recommend this guesthouse.
Car park: Super easy to park your car as they have a spacious car park space across the street.
Cleanness: Room is very new and clean. They prepared disposable towel and bathtub cover as well. Super considerate.
Service: very friendly and thoughtful staff.
Common area is spacious and thoughtfully designed too.
Last but not least, their heating and water pressure is super good which is very important at such cold and high altitude location.

Upon arrival, a friendly staff member immediately helped us with our luggage. She was incredibly helpful, answering all our questions, and personally showed us to our room. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. She also took the time to thoroughly explain how to use the in-room oxygen system. We had a really great experience. While breakfast was a set meal, it was simple yet nutritious. The hotel is also conveniently located quite close to the viewing platform.

Facilities: This is a newly opened hotel, with very new facilities and a stylish interior.
Service: The butler-style service was excellent, and we even received a free room upgrade.
Features: Sunshine over Golden Mountain, afternoon tea, and the healing energy of 3,500 meters above sea level (24-hour diffused oxygen).

At first, I compared many places online, and finally I saw a B&B that allowed cooking and had a fireplace. After the phone consultation, the reservation was made.
The real thing is more beautiful than the photo. The room is very high-end and it is very comfortable to lie in. The price is quite affordable, it is really a very cost-effective homestay. The store manager is very nice and provides fruits, snacks and beer. We bought groceries, cooked, and then ate, drank, sang, and chatted together. The fireplace especially created a lot of atmosphere and was perfect for taking photos.
What’s even more interesting is that the password box was broken, and we finally found the store manager who patiently found the tools to help us open it.
The whole stay process was particularly pleasant and reassuring. The layout of the room is also a style I like very much. It is very simple and fresh. All kinds of facilities are available, and the hygiene is even more meticulous. It is a very satisfactory stay experience. Recommended! ! ! !
If you have friends coming to play, feel free to come! ! ! !

MM381260****After a long search, we finally settled on Guanyun Banshan! At first, I was worried about not seeing the 'golden mountain' sunrise (and indeed we didn't 😭), so I booked a non-view room. But when we arrived, I asked the front desk if there were any view rooms left, and luckily there was one. We took a look at it and booked it immediately, because the moment you open the door and see the snow-capped mountains, it's all worth it! The hotel also provided complimentary welcome fruit, afternoon tea, and a delicious goodnight sweet soup! The staff were all very nice and enthusiastic. In the evening, when we went to the viewing platform to see the Milky Way, one of the staff members even guided us on how to take photos and helped us adjust the angles. In the morning, they prepared ginger tea for us, and it was a pleasure chatting with her (P.S. Owner, give this lady a raise!). When we left, they even drove us to the bus stop and gave us a souvenir. It was an incredibly happy stay!
GGuest UserThe room is spacious and comfortable, with an excellent location, facing the snow-capped mountains. The next morning, the sun shone on the golden mountain, bringing a huge visual shock
Hua Zong specially arranged a special car to welcome us to the store, and carefully prepared breakfast, road meals and dinner, which were convenient and delicious. He also prepared hiking poles, crampons, etc., which came in handy when hiking on the ice lake line👍👍
May your home in the distance prosper and have a bright future🎉🎉
May Hua Zong weigh everything he gets, and weigh more than sugarcane💪💪
MMaotouyingyingWhen I first previewed the hotel, it advertised diffused oxygen in the rooms. However, upon check-in, the staff informed me that the diffused oxygen system wasn't working well and was no longer offered. They said they could provide medical oxygen tanks if needed. It was then that I realized the hotel had updated its description to 'medical oxygen available,' which was my oversight. Nevertheless, a hotel without diffused oxygen isn't worth this price.
Fortunately, my parents and I transitioned smoothly from Lijiang to Shangri-La without experiencing altitude sickness. We did see many people using oxygen in the lobby on the first floor. I hope the hotel can adjust its oxygen supply equipment, or at least offer better value for money.
The location is truly excellent; the moment you enter the room, a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains greets you through the window – magnificent!
The afternoon tea service, with snacks delivered to the room by the staff, was a nice touch.
The restaurant on the second floor of the hotel is a bit pricey, but considering it's a high-altitude area with limited resources, I was perfectly content to enjoy chicken soup that tasted like my childhood – delicious and satisfying. We ate and drank well.
I still recommend the hotel, but I hope they adjust the price to be more reasonable. After all, hotels of comparable quality without diffused oxygen are typically half the price.
MM531539****The ultimate spot for chasing the golden sunrise on Meili Snow Mountain! The hotel's rooftop terrace is a fantastic photography location, offering unobstructed views of the Thirteen Peaks of Meili. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms also provide a natural frame, allowing you to capture the first rays of sunlight right from your bed. The hotel even offers stargazing photography guidance; I took professional equipment to the terrace late at night to shoot the Milky Way, and the staff helped with lighting and scene setup. If you want to deeply experience ******* culture, this is definitely the place! The staff also share stories about Meili legends and ******* Buddhism. Following the guide to explore ******* villages was much more rewarding than just sightseeing. At check-out, I received a complimentary souvenir from the hotel, which was a very touching gesture. This isn't just a hotel; it's a window into understanding Meili, and I'll definitely be back.
MM804909****The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service. The picture was taken from the 4th-floor viewing deck. The hotel's underfloor heating was very warm, and the room was quite spacious. The humidifier wasn't powerful enough, so it got a bit dry. I didn't notice the oxygen machine was malfunctioning until I started feeling unwell. The hotel had to replace it several times to get it working properly. The dining and location at the hotel were better than expected. However, I booked a room on the 2nd floor, which offers a less impressive view compared to the public viewing deck on the 4th floor. I'd recommend booking either a 3rd-floor room or just the cheapest option and enjoying the views outside. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money.
AAnonymous UserMy sincerest apologies for taking so long to write this review, especially after such a wonderful few days in Yubeng! But it's precisely because the experience was so unforgettable that even after all this time, I still remember every single detail, and I simply had to come back and leave this glowing review!
The hotel's location is simply unbeatable! My room had a direct, unobstructed view of the snow-capped mountains. Every morning, pulling back the curtains, I was greeted by the breathtaking spectacle of the 'Golden Mountain' – the peaks glowing golden under the rising sun. Being able to witness the mountains change from the soft hues of dawn to the deep colors of dusk right from my bed – this experience is truly beyond words; it's something you simply have to experience to truly understand!
I hope to return again someday to experience the tranquility and warmth at the foot of the sacred mountains once more!
RRosa09As one of the rare solo travelers to Meilin, our check-in process took a little longer than usual since the staff wasn’t entirely familiar with handling overseas guests (They probably wasn't used to seeing non-locals HAHA). That said, they were extremely accommodating—they kindly invited us to rest in our room first and even enthusiastically helped carry our (very heavy) luggage upstairs. Despite our late arrival around 10 PM, the staff patiently waited for us and assisted in unloading our bags from the car, which we greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself was clean and cozy. Our room was spacious and well-heated, including a warm bathroom that was a real comfort in the chilly weather. Water pressure and hot water was good. While our booking was for three people, the room was initially stocked with toiletries for two—but this was quickly resolved with a simple call to the front desk.
A standout feature was the smart AI assistant (Xiao Du) in the room, which was perfect for those who enjoy convenience—controlling lights and music hands-free was a nice touch. Location-wise, the hotel is well-situated, just a short 15-minute walk to Feilai Temple. The photos on Trip were accurate, and while there wasn't a strong mountain view from our room, it didn’t detract from the overall pleasant experience.
Overall, the hotel offered great service, comfort, and convenience, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area.
SS.LinaThis independent log cabin has a great atmosphere and is only about a ten-minute walk from the Feilai Temple viewing point. Although the weather wasn't ideal and I couldn't see the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains, it was still a worthwhile stay for the night! Due to the environment, there were a few bugs in the room. I brought my own insecticide, but the owner could consider providing a mild insect repellent in the rooms for future guests. Also, I didn't plan on using the humidifier, but out of curiosity, I opened it and saw it was full of limescale. If you're going to provide amenities like that, it's important to pay attention to hygiene and clean them regularly.
GGuest UserMy room was as described. Functional and nice and warm (with heating on) with an excellent hot shower and nice wooden wall beams.
The people who run the place are lovely and also offer nice breakfast options in the morning.
The only small note I have is that (despite best efforts and a very modern ventilation system in the bathroom) the bathroom is already moldy. I understand that it's a challenge to get under control given the climate.
I would stay again next time, and actually spend more than just one night here. There is so much you can explore here!
GGuest UserPros:
One of the most stunning views from a hotel ever.
Doodoo the dog is the sweetest and felt like a home stay, super quiet and calm! Comfy beds with electric blanket and clean room.
Cons:
The shared toilets, sink shower are outside, which is not ideal in cold November.
First day the woman working was so helpful and accommodating, helped me wash clothes, made food and answered questions. The second day was a different woman, who would not use a translation app to answer questions which made things difficult. Would not make a hot drink in the cafe for me and wouldn’t explain why and wasn’t much help on transport questions because she wouldn’t translate her answers. Unfortunately it stands out because 99% of people in china help you! I went to a different cafe down the road where people were immediately so helpful.
