We go to Destin every year and have stayed at 20+ condos and by far, this was the worst unit even though it cost the same as the others in the area. When I first arrived at the unit (#33), I immediately noticed that I had been catfished by the photos of the property vs reality. The unit was very run down with taped up flooring throughout, broken drawers that wouldn’t open more than 3 inches because the fridge was in the way, and by no means was a fully stocked kitchen. There was one dirty warped skilled to cook with and not even a whisk to scramble eggs. The dishwasher was clogged with 4 inches of dirty water so I knew immediately that we needed to wash everything by hand before using it since they couldn’t have been cleaned. The coffee pot had old dried coffee in it. There was popcorn, crackers, dirty used silverware inside the coffee table, in and around the couches, and even had full waste baskets of trash leftover from prior residents in the bedrooms. The bathroom sinks had grime in them that was easily wiped up with tissue (so no one even attempted to clean them) and urine was splashed on the toilet seat. The AC wasn’t working upstairs and it was over 100° outside. The ceiling fans were so full of dust that when you turned them on big chunks of dust flew all over the room. The furniture was covered in stains and smelled like feces. The kitchen table had glass tile laid over the top of it with rough unfinished edges, so we had to throw a sheet over it to prevent cuts. The trash can had grease and grime all over the lid and sides. The hall sink drain stopper was broken and clogged. The balcony outlet was flashing a red light saying it needed replacing, so no fan could be used outside. The dryer was full of lint inside including the door. Every time you opened it, more lint would fall out of the door all over the floor. Upon checkout, the manager was smoking in the parking lot while another guy was pressure washing a dumpster right beside the parked cars that we were packing up causing us to walk through grime, smoke and chemicals with our luggage. The maintenance man soaked the boardwalk one morning with pesticides or herbicides including handrails that we had to touch. All plants were dead around it the next day so I worry what that was that we had to walk on and touch. Parking wasn’t being enforced and we had to park across the street most days. They didn’t even simply have a garbage can located at the end of the boardwalk to dispose of beach trash, so the sand was littered with bottle caps, food trash, cigarette butts, straws, you name it, so people weren’t throwing their trash away. They aren’t doing the sea life any favors by simply providing a way to dispose of this trash. My kids were digging for seashells and only found more trash. The condo sleeps 12 but only has seating for 5 in the living room. We pulled up a dirty stained ottoman to sit on along with some backless wooden stools to get the family together so it was very uncomfortabl

We have been coming here for three years & it’s the best. Small, 3 story, not terribly crowded beach. The staff is top notch & Gabe, the beach chair fella is the hardest working young man, super nice & helpful. He is an asset to Coral Reef. If your looking for a place with a fancy pool & such this place isn’t for you or small kids. We love & will return year after year.

This unit was just so dirty upon arrival. Outdated furnishings. The mattresses are one step above sleeping on plywood. Especially the bunk beds! We've been coming to this place for several years with hopes that the next year will be better. No more! Last year we were told the whole complex was going to be renovated a year later it is worse than the year before. Dead bugs stuck to the bathroom wall. Cobwebs everywhere lighting is so dim. Hair stuck to shower wall upon arriving.

We stayed in Condo #19, which they just redid; beautiful and clean! The view was incredible, and a few steps to the beach. Hunter, the beach chair attendee, was terrific and so helpful. He offered to move any seaweed for us and always placed us in a similar spot each day. The location is excellent and easily accessible. If there isn't enough parking in the main lot, you can park across the street. The one thing with Condo #19 is that it is on the second floor above the pool, so it can get noisy until it closes at 9 pm. Overall, a great stay, and I would recommend the Coral Reef Club to anyone.

I am speaking of unit 22. Where do I begin? First, let's give credit where credit is due. The building is directly on the beach. Now, the bad part. The vents are all covered in black mold. The air unit filter is completely covered and clogged with dirt. So many problems covered up. The floor is apparently all broken up under the carpet. You can feel it when you walk and the tile is broken up in the kitchen. There's basically a big dip and it's just just covered with a rug. I'm about the least pickiest person in the world and yes I'm happy to just be at the beach but it feels very unhealthy and just gross in here.
