The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Nijo Castle. The staff are quite friendly, but it feels like this might be Mitsui Fudosan's first foray into such a high-end luxury hotel, as the overall system operation seems a bit unrefined. In particular, one older gentleman at the Italian restaurant, who seemed to be from the head office, really dropped the ball on service. The hotel design is quite good and refined.

The hotel offers a free public hot spring, which we tried out one evening. The water wasn't quite hot enough, but other than that, there were no downsides. It wasn't crowded at all, and the staff were constantly on standby, ensuring that water, towels, and other supplies were always readily available. Plus, even if you don't bring a swimsuit, the hotel provides one, and the quality is pretty good!

We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow.
Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful
Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently.
There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private.
Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used.
Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere.
Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!

Wonderful stay, the design/interior is confortable, breakfast is great, service is very good. The spa was also nice with the thermal bath. We really enjoyed also the shower in the bathroom. Japanese breakfast was also nice.
Overall a good experience, we had a room facing the street which was not ideal, I would recommend to book a room facing the garden or the castle.

The staffs were really helpful and kind. Breakfast was good. Parking was easy with valley parking available. We did however got complaints when kids were being kids in the room. I didn’t think the kids were making excessive noise though. Overall good, but a bit pricy.
