Hotel des Ducs

In the heart of historic Dijon this hotel has everything I want. I walked to dinner in a glorious old French neighborhood. My hotel window looks out on a classic French topiary garden. Heaven!

We stayed 1 night while visiting the Burgundy wine region. The hotel does have 2 buildings, we chose the one that you have to walk too and climb the vertical stairs to your room with your luggage. We wouldn't recommend staying in the other building if you have any luggage the stairs are steep and unsafe to walk up and down. There isn't any help with your luggage. We didn't realize how steep the stairs were if we did, we would have chosen another room or even hotel. Additionally, in our room (#3) in the other building there wasn't a phone in the room so anytime I had a question for the hotel I had to either walk back to the other building where the lobby was or call on my personal cell phone. We filled out their survey in advance of our arrival asking for foam pillows and more towels. We didn't get either. The room didn't have bottled water and the TV didn't work. And finally the room's air conditioning doesn't get turned on until May and during our visit it was extremely hot with no air or ventilation making it a miserable night. The staff was fine. They did provide recommendations for dinner but will not make reservations for you, we were told they don't do that. Keep in mind most everything is closed on Sundays so if you can go a different day to Dijon we would recommend it. We can't recommend you stay at this hotel given the problems we had.

Good hotel, with decent rooms. No parking nearby though and no hotel restaurant.
