Hotel des Tilleuls

Dreadful stinky filthy tiny rooms with even more dreadful managers of the hotel. A joke! We ran away and so did many other customers who made the same mistake booking there. Very noisy; bathrooms stunk of humidity; dirty old and tiny « double » beds. Extremely rude and agressive hotel manager who was moaning about being fed up with unsatisfied guests who wanting only one thing, escape from that hotel!

Beware, the proprietor's strategy is to market the hotel with Wifi, whilst knowing it doesn't work in the second building. She is happy to mislead you, blaming the weather, but if you are suspicious enough to check, you'll find it working perfectly well in the main building and eventually she'll concede that she can't fix the router and will complain about her running costs. If you challenge the price she will blame everything but her own dishonesty and then possibly throw twenty euros at you in anger. If you don't pick it up, she may chase you up the street, telling you to accept the money. The next morning she is likely to double down in defiance. So the French equivalent of Fawlty Towers is Faulty Tower, if Wifi is important to you. I'm still waiting for a reply to my letter of complaint.
