Hotel Sunset

This hotel is very well located, with the most beautiful ocean view. The staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommended

Hotel Sunset gave us a memorable experience. From the receptionist to the Butler to the Manager were all amazing. I remember complaining the room we (my patner and I which was our fault anyway😉) booked was small and Hotel Sunset upgraded us twice. Not just that, their services was top notch (yea, I’m a fan of good service😍) The restaurant food was amazing, I never missed the breakfast and Dinner at the hotel(wasn’t free though but I super enjoyed it) The hotel is in front of a beach (for people that likes Beach vibes) and even when I didn’t want to go to the beach the view from my room was amazing. If I am to go visiting Monte***** again I’d surely revisit my hotel Sunset.

First off, let me commend the staff for doing their best with a smile. Marianna in particular went over and above to assist in every way she could. Unfortunately, there was little they could do with the things that made this a difficult stay. Several times I asked for solutions to a problem only to be told that nothing could be done. Every one of the 5 nights we were there I would vow to leave the next morning. Trying to sleep on the rock hard beds with the loud music, slamming doors, children running up and down the halls and parties on the balconies around us kept us tossing and turning for at least 3 hours. Granted, we were there during busy season, but something’s gotta be done. The noise and the hard bed were the worst things. Let me list a few other pros and cons. The parking is not on premises, but in that area I was thankful for what they had. It’s not convenient but it’s secure and most importantly, it’s there. The wifi is anaemic and ethereal. We had to walk up 6 flights of stairs (3 floors) and there was one floor above us. Who builds a building with 6 floors without an elevator? We were aware in advance so that’s on us and they did help us carry our stuff up. Also, from that lofty height the view is lovely. The breakfast is good and it is served with a smile from about 8:10 until 10. We tried the restaurant for lunch once. The first three things we tried to order were unavailable. What we finally got came without much flavor so we did not return. There are other great places in the area so we did just fine. There’s no pool but you are right across the street from the busiest beach I have ever seen. The hotel will reserve you a couple of sun lounges and umbrella but expect to have folks right on top of you, as in dripping all over you close. I enjoyed the snorkeling but getting through the bodies out to the rock can be daunting. The beach has some sand but is primarily gravel. Other than the nonexistent soundproofing and the granite slab beds, the room was ok. One plus was a good selection of channels on the TV. They did use a fragranced cleaning product to mop the halls each day, but the linens and tile floor in the room were not fragranced. We feel that the high ratings that this place has are due to the great service, but were expecting the whole package and were disappointed.
