Only stay if you fancy coming home with extra guests! Arriving from a day trip in Looe, which was lovely, the hotel was disappointing. Run down, damp on the outer walls, the place looked derelict and uncared for. However here we were and we were just booked for 1 night so maybe the room would be better. After 30 minutes of ringing the doorbell, telephoning the landline and mobile number we finally got a response and a woman told us via the intercom someone would let us in. The someone, a young man introduced himself as the face of the business, whilst pleasant didn’t apologise for our waiting and couldn’t explain why no one came to the door or phone. Enter into the room which have individual entrances directly from outside. The smell of damp was overwhelming in the dark blue room (perhaps painted that way as a disguise). The room and bathroom were big and the furniture looked ok. However it could have done with a good clean, and the blanket on the bed had some sticky liquid on it presumably from a previous guest, and I dumped the blanket into the shower. My husband slept in his clothes on top of the bed and whilst I started under the duvet the itching on my legs got so intense I too ended up on top with towels placed over the fitted sheet and the duvet discarded. I can’t say what the bites were from but the itching was terrible and lasted throughout the following day. Needless to say we wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here, such a shame as a good location outside of Looe and could be a great business with a new owner who cared.
