My husband and I stayed at this resort for our 25th Anniversary trip in April 2024, and again in June 2024 with our son for his college graduation trip. 3rd time overall staying at Dreams Dominicus La Romana. The review I left in April 2024 has mysteriously disappeared. 🤷🏻♀️ Overall a pleasant stay each time. The beach is absolutely beautiful! Food is definitely an issue at this resort. The preferred restaurant at the beach needs some major improvements for both the breakfast and lunch buffets. The preferred Flying Fish restaurant across the street is much better! The main resort Buffett was much better in June compared to April. The specialty restaurants were all very good. Totally different atmosphere in April compared to June. April featured lots of weddings with amazing singers and entertainment. June is a more laid back family atmosphere with tons of kids everywhere, and the Entertainment was dull. The tropical humidity is obviously much worse in June. Our preferred check in experience in June was top notch with a Champagne greeting and immediate room access. In April our check in was across the street in the family section with no champagne greeting. We had a much nicer preferred club swim out master suite in April that was located in building 65. In June we opted for two preferred deluxe swim out rooms both in building 57. Building 65 is much closer to the beach and restaurants while building 57 is centrally located between the main lobby and the beach. We had some AC issues in April that were fixed within 24 hours. In June the AC worked perfectly for both of our rooms. We did the romantic dinner on the pier in April and again on the beach in June. Totally not worth $169 per couple. The steak was excellent each time but both times the lobster was overcooked and just not good. Mosquitoes were much worse in June. Definitely bring your bug spray. In June the spa was very relaxing and I enjoyed my massage very much. In April things were broken and I had to change rooms mid massage donut wasn’t very relaxing. Special shout out to our Butler Luis as he was phenomenal both in April and again in June. He went above and beyond to make our stays special each time. We requested him again for our June stay. He is very attentive and just a real nice man. Also want to acknowledge Richard, a great waiter at both Seaside Grill and the Italian restaurant. Nelson at the Bali beds works his tail off and does an amazing job!! Helpful tip #1: if you have a swim out room, ask if there are kids in the other rooms who have access to the swim out. In building 57, the kids next door to our room stayed in the swim out on our side directly in front of our room 95% of the time during our 7 day stay in June. We only had one afternoon to enjoy the swim out pool without the kids. The pool stayed murky the whole week and we had to request it to be cleaned with new chemicals so we could enjoy it. Building 65 was definitely much better for the swim out. He
