Donsak Orchid Resort

Beautiful hidden gem near Surat Thai Donsak, Samui Ferry Pier. Lovely restaurant, gardens and small guest houses. We discovered this place shears ago and we’re recently delighted to find it still intact and thriving.

We called in here, as we have done in the past, basically for a snack and a drink as we were planning a large meal in Donsak later that day. In the past we have been more than satisfied with our visit but on this occasion, we left somewhat disappointed. The restaurant certainly wasn't busy with only one other table occupied yet the staff seemed a little reluctant to deal with us! As before, we ordered just one dish each but sadly the papaya salad wasn't particularly tasty. We asked for some hot coffee only to be told what that no one could operate the coffee making machine. When we arrived the was no greeting and when we left, not a word from the staff who seemed more interested in their mobile phones. It was a shame as the restaurant is in a beautiful setting and on previous visits we have been more than satisfied.
