Arrived on Friday the 5th and was informed I had to enter a code to let myself into the property. This is where it all went wrong!!! The code didn’t work. So after a few messages back and forth from Simple Stay and about three new codes later I gain access to the property. They literally tried to blame me and said the code didn’t work because it was too soon after the check in time, seriously? Anyway, there’s another keypad lock on our bedroom door but this opens right away……as I open the door it stops, there’s something blocking it……it’s only the bed!!!! The king size bed is blocking the door so I have to move the bed up a bit to open the door fully so myself and the other guest could get in the room. Once in the room we decided to chill after travelling, I took my phone charger out of my bag and get it in and put my phone to charge when to my horror my phone wasn’t charging, the tv wouldn’t come on the bedside lamp wouldn’t work nothing plugged in to the sockets would work. So again I messaged Simple Stay and informed them of this issue, sent quite a few messages back and forth to one another and one of the responses was for us to go and charge our phones in the hallway or the communal kitchen!!! To my utter disbelief my reply to her was how unacceptable that solution was as anyone could steal it, then her next bright idea was for me to video my own phone not charging…..I don’t know how I’m going to do that as it’s my phone, I felt like I was talking to some thick person who couldn’t be bothered helping. I mentioned getting a refund etc she soon sent out an electrician and he sorted the problem out. The next day, surprise surprise, we have yet another issue…….no HOT WATER!!!!! Messaged Simple Stay and absolutely nothing, left it a while longer and messaged them again and again nothing. I played with the thermostat that I found but it’s like you need a masters degree just to work it out!!! The Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Gel they have in the little dispensers look like they have been there for about 30 years and not been changed, broken toilet seat, you only get one flat pillow each with 2 old rubbish cushions to sleep on, the upgraded room which we paid extra for which was the king size bed was actually two single beds pushed together with a sheet over them both, massive stains over the mattress, splashes all over the walls as well as scratches out of the paintwork, very dusty, pictures all uneven and slanted. The hole place was a nasty, smelly hovel and I will never go back there again!!!! I’m trying to open up a complaint with *********** about this because they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with such a disgrace of a place!!!! Absolute furious 😡😡😡
