The balcony opening up to a lot of greenery was nice! However, the soundproofing in the room was terrible; I couldn't sleep at all because of the noise late at night, and the staff didn't handle it proactively! I definitely won't be staying here a second time. Hyatt has been receiving complaints from various guests, and I won't be booking with them again!

The Songshan Lake Hotel in Dongguan has an amazing location! The hotel is surrounded by Songshan Lake, and as soon as you open the window, there's a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, the pavilions and towers in the distance, and the beautiful lake scenery. The hotel's interior decoration is still relatively new, and the overall architecture has a traditional style. It's truly massive; it takes several minutes to walk from the front desk to the room. A big thank you to Herbert, who helped us with check-in! Norton from the breakfast department was also very enthusiastic in explaining the breakfast options. The hotel itself is excellent, my only minor quibble is that the front desk area feels a bit too small. For such a large five-star hotel, the entire front desk workspace seems a bit cramped and lacking in grandeur. The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to Songshan Lake Scenic Area, where you can find everything for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The Litchi Forest parking lot has plenty of spaces. Kaka, the duty manager who checked me in, was excellent – very responsive and efficient. The air at the hotel in the morning is refreshing, and I saw a mini-train available. It’s clear from these details, like not needing to ask for a power card upon check-in, that the hotel provides meticulous and thoughtful service. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of choices. It's also a great option to go for a run in Songshan Lake Scenic Area. Following Kaka's recommendation, I checked out a popular roasted goose restaurant, and it was quite good. See you next time!

For my birthday this year, I planned a getaway to Songshan Lake. After browsing through Ctrip, I found that only the Hyatt was lakeside, so I chose it. When I went to the front desk to check in with my ID, the lovely attendant, Lucky, noticed it was my birthday and enthusiastically wished me well, even upgrading my room! I was truly touched. The hotel is located right on Songshan Lake, and its gardens connect directly to the lake. The lake-view rooms offer a beautiful panoramic view of the lake. The room itself was clean and tidy. The staff were all incredibly responsive and welcoming. It was truly a fantastic trip!

The room itself was great, very spacious, and the front desk upgraded us to a lake view room. It had a balcony overlooking the lake, and the bathroom had two sinks, which was very convenient. A free crib was provided for our child. However, the dinner buffet service was, in my opinion, the absolute worst. It was a complete mess, very poorly organized, and significantly detracted from our overall stay. First, when we entered, the two customer service staff members assigning tables were completely disorganized. The restaurant tables weren't pre-assigned; they were making seat allocations on the fly. Before letting us in, the two staff members had to confirm with each other that our table wasn't reserved. After sitting for about 15 minutes, I stepped out to get something. When my family returned to our table, they were asked to move by a staff member who appeared to be a male manager (he wasn't wearing a suit, just a long-sleeved shirt). When I got back to the table, I heard this male staff member telling the front desk staff that a customer was scolding him. Little did I know, he was talking about our table. My family was very confused when I returned, as they were suddenly told to move, and those other guests were standing right by our table, watching us being forced out. Firstly, this felt incredibly bad. If the restaurant is seating guests, shouldn't they first check if someone is already sitting at that table? We had been at that table for over 15 minutes, and my family had already started eating. What does it mean for staff to bring guests and have them stand by our table? It made us feel as if we had taken their spot without permission, as if it was our fault. This experience was terrible. I never expected this kind of treatment at a five-star hotel. I thought I was in a 'cha chaan teng' (a Hong Kong-style diner) or McDonald's, with people waiting for tables. Secondly, this was a mistake by the management team, so why should we bear the consequences? I asked the male staff member why we had to move, and he said it was the front desk staff's fault and that he had already reprimanded them. I said the arrangement was terrible, and he mentioned that the other customers had booked previously. Well, we also booked our room and dinner package! If it was a team error, they should have handled it themselves and arranged for the other customers' reservation. Why were we forced to accommodate? Why couldn't they just seat the unseated customers at another table? There were five of us, including a one-year-old baby and seniors. Didn't they consider the inconvenience moving tables would cause us? I felt a significant double standard here. Thirdly, when we moved tables, only that manager-like male staff member helped us. Not a single other staff member came to assist. My mom was holding the baby and still had to carry her own bag to the new table. Only one staff member helped carry two plates. My sister had to carry her own plates with both hands. Since there were many dishes on the table, we had to move them ourselves. Midway, a male staff member in a short-sleeved shirt walked towards our table. I thought he was coming to help us move, but to my surprise, he was actually there to clean the table. Seeing that we hadn't finished moving, he turned and walked away. After a while, the original male staff member who asked us to move saw that we hadn't finished and finally came to help us move the remaining dishes. Honestly, the team cooperation in this restaurant felt very poor. I have never seen such terrible service in a five-star hotel. Finally, I want to point out that from the moment we were asked to move until we finished moving, no one came to apologize to us. The blame was on the incorrect table assignment. To be honest, we paid to go on vacation, booked a hotel room, breakfast, and dinner, and our family wanted to relax and enjoy ourselves. Little did we know, this one dinner ruined the entire stay. It was my first time being forced to move from a table at a five-star hotel with other guests standing around, and it was truly an unforgettable experience.🤣 Absolutely a bad review. Even days after checking out, I still can't forget this terrible experience, so I had to write a review!

A special shout-out to Tracy, the Guest Relations Specialist! She called us a day in advance, and on my birthday, she surprised me with a cake. She was also incredibly thorough and helpful in answering all our questions about the hotel. Even after we checked out, she made sure to follow up about any forgotten items. I'd definitely come back if I get the chance!

A very beautiful place, and the breakfast was good too. The manager, Tracy, was very nice and courteous. I'll definitely come again next time.

My check-in experience at this hotel was not good. Avoid at all costs. 1. First, the lighting is very dim. It's really hard on the eyes if you're using a phone or tablet. 2. The TV is also very old, and the picture quality is distorted. 3. Food delivery doesn't come to the room, and the room is very far from the lobby entrance where you pick up deliveries, so it's a hassle to walk there. 4. There's no bathtub liner. This is quite unusual for a five-star hotel. 5. The concierge service is practically non-existent. I'm a single woman traveling with a child and luggage, and the concierge specifically walked away instead of helping me with my bags or putting them in the car. 6. To exit the parking lot, you have to go to the front desk to scan a code, and you have to do this every time you leave. You can't just call, and the front desk is quite far away. 7. They don't proactively provide slippers and towels at the pool. The butler's service was okay, but overall, the hotel's service awareness isn't very strong.

Room View: The front desk upgraded us to a balcony room directly facing the lake, instantly boosting that vacation vibe! Restaurant: Pretty good value for money. Location and Transportation: About a four-kilometer drive from Mixc World. Service: I want to particularly highlight the service. From the duty manager Kaka, to the security guards, and the restaurant staff, everyone was incredibly warm and attentive. Their genuine happiness was truly infectious, and the singer was very dedicated too. I hope to visit again when I have the chance.

The room decor was luxurious. The hotel was almost fully booked, and it took me a while to find a parking spot. The balcony offered a lovely lake view, with birds chirping and flowers blooming – a truly pleasant experience. The buffet was good, but it was too crowded, and I had to queue. I have a suggestion: could the TV be upgraded to a newer model that can connect to a phone? Otherwise, I think it might affect competitiveness. Also, the air conditioning didn't seem to be very cool.

She prepared congee and sandwiches, not because it was a standard service, but because she could imagine a guest's exhaustion after working late into the night, or their rush to leave early in the morning. This ability cannot be trained through SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). It stems from an understanding of the job: the hotel industry is fundamentally a 'hospitality industry,' and the core of hospitality is making guests feel 'at home.' What does 'at home' mean? It means being treated as an individual with unique habits, preferences, and needs, rather than a standardized product on an assembly line. In today's increasingly digital and impersonal age, this kind of meticulous, human-centered care is precisely what is most scarce and most precious. As a Trip.com Diamond member, I rarely leave reviews like this, but I have to warn you to avoid this place. Although it's next to Songshan Lake, it's about 6 km from Huawei Town and its attractions, and there aren't many shops or restaurants nearby. The parking lot is uncovered, and the hotel facilities are old and run-down. The most frustrating part was the service — it definitely didn't live up to the standards of a major international hotel. Please think carefully before booking.
