Great Hotel with Excellent Facilities, But Poor Tennis Court Experience
We stayed at this hotel recently and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located just 700 meters from the metro, making it easy to reach. The property is spacious and includes an outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna, gym, a tennis court (details below), a large dining hall, and two separate massage areas offering various treatments.
Room & Service:
The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a larger room upon arrival. The staff were friendly and polite.
Food:
We’d rate the food 3.5 out of 5. The buffet is advertised as European, but the dishes lean heavily toward Chinese cuisine. Breakfast wasn’t to our taste, so we decided to skip dinner.
Massage:
There are two massage salons. We booked a foot massage, but the therapists ended up giving us an almost full-body massage, paying extra attention to sore areas. It was a wonderful experience — 5 out of 5.
Pools & Sauna:
Both pools are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. If you prefer fewer people, we recommend the indoor pool around 7 a.m. and the outdoor one around 2 p.m. The pools were clean and warm, and we appreciated the Swedish sauna in the locker room. Again — 5 stars.
Gym:
The gym is well-equipped and never crowded. Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. — another 5 stars.
Tennis Court:
Unfortunately, this was the only major disappointment. Despite several attempts to book and show up at the scheduled time, no staff were present. Phone calls were ignored or we were told, “I don’t have time to talk.” We eventually got a refund (booked via *******), but the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Rating: 1 out of 5.
Overall:
Aside from the tennis court issue, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to others. Great amenities, clean rooms, and a peaceful environment.

Hotel has good service, friendly staff, location attracts a lot of western guests so English is spoken by many of the staff.
Rooms are very large, comfortable etc, air conditioning works well, and staff keep the room very clean. Gym is okay for a casual user or someone looking for a cardio workout and the pool is very large and clean.
Located well for the metro etc, although quite far from a major high speed Trainlines that would be used for trains to other cities like Shenzhen, Kowloon, Guangzhou etc. I’d suggest booking a car in advance to help with that journey if you’re not a local/Chinese speaker. Close to a nice park for a walk, with viewing platform, stairs etc, would be good for a worker with an afternoon off who wants a bit of exercise and to see some things. Online it looked a bit marketed at families, but I didn’t notice much in the way of children staying, and certainly didn’t find the hotel noisy etc.

Dongguan Forum remains a favorite of mine when visiting South China. Hotel has been upgraded recently, is clean, very good service and in a great location to work and local restaurants. Breakfast and gym are both very good. When warmer, the pool is a great amenity.

Overall good value for money! Well located, close to a nice park and restaurants as well.

The kitchen makes a nice hamburger, way better than most places outside! Thumbs up to the chef!

DG Forum Hotel remains amazing. Even when you encounter a language barrier, they are quick to help and assist. The food remains delicious, the pools awesome and the views inspiring. Just remember to close the room's balcony doors, otherwise the air conditioning stops 😂😂.
