Days Inn by Wyndham Doswell at the Park

Quiet. Friendly staff.

Everything was great, until the 7am door slamming contest on Sunday morning!! Something needs to be done about that.

Newly renovated and looking good. Friendly service and easy to get to from the park.

The hotel has recently been redone and was really nice. The rooms was clean and comfortable and very spacious. The front desk staff were very polite. It was nice to have a ground floor room but my room was directly opposite the breakfast area so it was a little noisy from 5am onwards as they were setting up. other than that it was very quiet.

Check-in was smooth, pulling into the check-in area is between a fenced pool where many wet kids are running in and out and the front door of the hotel. You have to circle around to park though. The hotel is DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF A RAILROAD TRACK so if silence is something you desire, you may want to choose a hotel that's miles away from King's Dominion (the park you're probably going to, if you're staying here). Being directly across from the park can save you $30 in parking fees if you walk. We were in room 321 which is the top-right corner on the front side. It was relatively quiet but you could still hear the trains. The TV was locked down with some type of android operating system and didn't include the TV remote, only a universal which didn't have input or menu not allowing HDMI sources or intuitive channel surfing (you had to hit Previous Channel to get to "dish network guide" and then go up and down from there). Normally, I'm harsh on internet speeds at hotels. However, this time we did not use the internet; so, no review there. Keeping the Frigidaire AC on 61 gets the room about 72. The staff was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The front desk provided bandages when we asked for them and the breakfast lady was not only friendly but went out of her way to get more food available even at the very end of the breakfast time. The hotel looks like it was recently updated but could use an entire remodel. Definitely new AC units.

Hotel was excellent for are family. We stayed 4 night and went to kings dominion. Staff was family friendly. Breakfast was like any good hotel set up. Room is smaller but we made it work. Breakfast staff was kind and even let the kids get food at 9:30am while she was shutting it down. 7-11 next door you can walk to. Burger King on the other hand was the worst experience I ever seen. They close at 10 online said 11. You get out of the park at 9 and by the time you get in the line at 9:30 ish the manager was the worst ever. Won’t take any orders. Told us 2 night it would be a 10 to 15 min wait if we wanted food we had to come in. We went in and she acted like an ***** wouldn’t take food orders. I will be writing a post and calling corporate. She screamed at the poor kids trying to work as she did nothing. I understand they say on the door they close at 10 but you got hungry kids and there is nothing around to eat pack food for emergency. Like to Thank the hotel and the staff

Well got there little early and room was ready but they wanted to charge me 35 dollars more wasn’t good

This hotel was fine for our stay at King's Dominion. Complaints: I could throw a rock and hit the railroad tracks from our room window. Long freight train came through in the middle of the night and our dogs were terrified. Other than that a few short trains was all that came by during our two nights there. AC did not work the first night. Asked for help at front desk and it worked to an acceptible level the second night. Overall, the hotel looks great as it is newly renovated. The dark out shades are nice. The roller coaster art is fun. The staff were kind. My son and husband liked the breakfast, which was offered at the hotel next door. I will say that this is showing up as a pet friendly hotel, but they are working to change that, so be careful if you book with pets. We were allowed to stay with ours because we had a reservation from this site which at that time said it was Pet Friendly. You can't beat how close it is to King's Dominion. We could have walked there and certainly would have if we didn't have free parking. Overall - we would probably consider staying there again. I would just check the air conditioner before bed and ask for a room facing away from the railroad tracks.

The remodel was nicely done. Don't know about the breakfast - not up that early. The breakfast area seemed small
