The Hydro Hotel

Location is great, but the hotel is getting old. Breakfast staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pleasant friendly staff we arrived early and were allowed in our room before the check in time sorted our transport back to the airport when we were leaving. Excellent and thank you very much for.

A great hotel with friendly staff. The food was lovely. The room we had overlooked the beach and a view of the sea. Use of lift but a few steps upto the hotel and some stairs to and from room. Good location for amenities. We would have loved to have stayed longer. The staff really looked after us. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Placed on the Promenade over looking the Bay. Stayed 4 nights. Room 309 bathroom good size bath with shower very smart, room long and narrow but had T V ,tea and coffee and hairdryer, bed nice and comfy. Breakfast was self service everything from cereal to full English, tea or coffee served to table E M TABLE SERVICE good choice menu i enjoyed every meal. Well stocked bar but small. Hotel was dated in some rooms seating in the lounge was comfortable. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Iwe really enjoyed our stay

First time to the Isle of Mann, a beautiful island very rural and rustic, however let down by a very poorly run hotel. Very run down and out dated, a foul smell of either oil or carbon dioxide throughout the dinning hall, carpets out dated, mould and cracked ceiling in dinning hall, food below par, either cold, pureed soup, wrong orders or missing orders, staff slow and no communication between which tables to clear for the next part of the meal, gentleman refused a yogurt everyday for main due to health reasons found out to have been throat operation. No entertainment most nights, young manager lady in dinning hall very rude and unpleasant, and no ramp access for anyone with difficulties walking or mobility issues. Overall I feel it is generous even giving the Hydro hotel a 1 star when should be no stars at least, shame as the island again is beautiful let down by a poorly run hotel.

This hotel is looking very tired and dated. The public areas are just about acceptable but the rooms are truly awful. We were initially allocated no. 207 and, in 50 years of travelling, I have never come across such a disgusting room. Words cannot describe how grim this was. We politely asked for a different room and a very rude woman on reception gave us room no. 100. This was much better but still not up to modern-day standards. Window frames were rotten, carpet was torn, the decor was gloomy, there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling and there was an overall feeling that no proper maintenance had been done for a very long time. The only plus point was that the breakfast and dinner were very good.
