HQ Bar & Restaurant

Had never stayed here before so as the price was decent compared to some others I thought I’d give it a go. I was a little surprised that the hotel is spread out over 3 buildings and on entering there was an air of HMO due to dark corridors and separate WC’s. There was a lounge which looked clean and tidy, stairs were a bit threadbare and a little steep if you have mobility difficulties. However, my room was great, very clean, even though I was solo, I’d asked for a double bed, so the singles had been pushed together. Bed was very comfortable and the sheets nice and crisp and clean. Had a mild panic that I had shared facilities but then realised I had an en-suite, which again was spotlessly clean. Plenty of loo roll, soap and hot water for the sink and shower (there’s also a bath). TV was a bit basic, but fine for the short time I spent in the room, and there is tea and coffee provided and topped up daily. Not the best view from the windows - inside view. This was made up for by the breakfast, which was hot and cold, and was very good.  Staff were friendly and helpful and were happy to stow my bag on the day of departure, which was really useful. For value it was 10/10, and I’d be happy to stay there again.

Worst hotel room ever !!  The room is not clean at all.  Smell so bad Worst of all, the blanket had a bad armpit smell.  Too strong to use blanket at night.  Value of money is not worth at all as the hotel rate is very expensive but customer’s experience is not impressive at all.

No lift, steep stairs, basement room, the room looked like it haven’t had anyone stayed for a long time, there were BIG spiders, webs, and a long worms/insect found inside the main toilet bowl (scared the hell out of me), on the surface looks decent, this building in general really looks like not many guests stayed at this place during my time of stay. Towels some were stained with blue spots, and one was moist which i dont know why. The location was a little far off from the central by walk as well. I was expecting a proper navigation place, but the reception was in the restaurant? There weren’t any signages so it was hard to find, the accommodation is at a different building, took quite a short walk carrying all my stuff, BAD WIFI, you cant get anything in living room, had to return back to rooms for a stronger signal. Good points: has alot of kitchen utensils and appliances so if you’re into cooking while you’re here then it’ll be useful, and there’s a tub, big space, the reception/manager/owner?? Were pretty friendly. Basically, it is not a proper “hotel” nor listed as “airbnb”, outside the building it was listed as Guesthouse, so just don’t expect much from it

the hotel owner need to do more to impress guest here, especially on Heating system and showering system.

Great location but poor quality

Breakfast was good but coffee could be better. The walls were thin so many times woken up by neighbour's chatter and laughter during midnight. We could also smell food from our window when dinner is prepared at the restaurant. Overall, staff are nice!
