This review is based on two stays at this property, one in January and the other in February. I decided to roll both stays into one review since they didn't differ that much. Overall I would say the stay was not bad. The people at the front desk were really nice and helpful which makes you feel more welcomed and you can go to them if there is a problem. I had one of the studio rooms and not the one bedroom rooms that they have. The room was ok. I found it to be a little dated. The thermostat is a little wonky and depending on the room, the refrigerator can have annoying humming noise. I'm noise sensitive so this is something that bothered me. I had to unplug it before going to bed so it wouldn't wake me up. On that note, everything seemed really quiet which for me is a huge huge factor in what I think of a place. One thing that I didn't like is that there wasn't any housekeeping. I don't need it every day but since there is a kitchen (that I used), it would have been nice to have someone just come and empty the trash and swap out bathroom towels. Not the end of the world that there wasn't but had this happen at another Residence Inn where I stayed for over a week and no one ever came to clean the room. It must be a thing with Residence Inns. One of my negatives is the breakfast. Now I went to the supermarket to get my own food to make my own breakfast so I didn't eat the breakfast. I just saw what they offered. I have to say, they offered nothing healthy. There really wasn't, in my mind, anything that is good for you. There was barely any fruit and if there was, it looked horrible. I would for sure stay away from the breakfast. Plus there are breakfast options outside of the hotel where you may fair a little better or at least have more options. Speaking of location, It's convenient to restaurants and shops but most are chains and big box stores. There is a little downtown to Dover that isn't very far but sadly, there isn't much of a reason to venture that far so what's around the hotel is plenty fine. I'm from the Philadelphia but live out West now so being close to Wawas was important to me and they weren't too far. it's the little things. If I were to find myself in Dover again, I would stay here. I stayed at the Home2 Suites in the area last year and that was awful. This Residence Inn by far was better. Check it out. It may be the best in Dover.
