Scandic Ambassadeur Drammen

After one day, the hotel manager changed my room—thanks to him, he was very kind. However, on the first day when I arrived at the hotel, there was a Black woman with glasses at the reception. She was neither polite nor friendly. This Black woman with the glasses at the reception ruined my vacation. I went on vacation, but this woman at the reception really ruined it. There were hairs on the bed, and even though I showed her photos, she refused to accept that the room was not clean. But after speaking with the manager, he changed my room and gave me a larger one with breakfast included. Thanks for the boss of hotel

Hotels in Norway are generally pricy compared to other regions of Europe, but to be fair to this particular hotel, even though the rooms are fairly small and the furniture looks like outdated, they compensate for that in the comfort of the bed and pillows and the practicality of using the desk, the closet, the bathroom, the shower and to top it up, one of the best open buffets breakfasts I've seen. The breakfast buffet easily beats some 5 star hotels in Europe. Plenty -and I mean plenty-of choices from super organic healthy to super fatty sugar sweets and cakes! Overall, it exceeded my expectations and I had a great accommodation and sleep for 2 days. The location is also great near so many points of transportation with plenty of taxis outside, restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets around.

Good hotel

The hotel is located near the city centre where a large of restaurants and shops are nearby, which is very convenient for travellers. The reception staff is professional and polite. She answered all my queries promptly with smiles. When I asked her for restaurant recommendations, she asked the kind of food I like and recommend a couple of restaurants to me. The room is clean and tidy, with no obvious shortcomings. The breakfast served by the hotel impressed me. There are a large selection of food and fruits. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends

Cleanliness was sub par, found a hair in my waterglass, the shower is stained and generally the room felt old and worn down. The water pressure in the shower was so poor it was hard to get clean. Add to it the shower head was mounted, I felt limited. Scandic is usually a quite stingy chain of hotels, so this is not surprising. They speculate on saving a little bit everywhere from water pressure to small glasses at breakfast so people will drink less juice. Lack of chromecast was disappointing.

I am highly disappointed with the unprofessional service I received from the night receptionist Claudia at Scandic Drammen. I came to check in on my prepaid accomodation. Claudia was adamant I had not paid for the room . I opened the scandic app and showed her the receipt with which responded even though it says uve paid you have to pay again at which point I got upset and decided to leave. She then told me to log onto my bank and prove to her again I had paid , when I did she then Asked me to send her a copy of my statement proving I had paid. As if not enough she went on to ask me to fill a form with my details and information . When I asked her why since I usually stay at scandic and have never done so ,she told me it’s a new procedure which has been put in place now in the hotel. I am deeply disappointed in this level of sevice to say the least. How a large corporation like scandic would demand for payment again when a room has been paid and when staff aren’t trained enough to treat customers with respect or understand their own system . I have a status of loyal friend and my partner has a status of best friend because we regularly use scandic. This is by far the worst experience I have ever experienced. Even after sending a letter of complaint, I didn’t even receive a courtesy of a reply or acknowledgement from scandicDrammen
