Barefoot Manta was amazing! We spent 5 nights and had the best time. The staff were incredible, especially the resident marine biologist Rob who was a mine of information and enthusiasm. There are 3 different beaches to snorkel from and the snorkelling was the best we have ever seen, it is a protected marine reserve and we participated in coral planting which was great. The Manta Ray trips happened on 3 of our 5 days, it is a bit of an uncontrolled bun fight with various resorts sending their boats to see the mantas but the Barefoot Manta crew were educated and respectful. The resort is beautiful and has a lovely vibe, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double Bure on the sunset side, it was a permanent tent and it was all that we could have wished for, right on the beach. The meal plan is really expensive by our standards, I would have preferred an al a carte option as I have food restrictions and I found that eating salad and rice for almost every meal was boring and repetitive. The staff did try though, however $40 Fijian for salad and rice was a bit on the nose. Bring snacks! It would have been good if they could have made the tea/coffee available all day and maybe had something available for afternoon tea as it is 6 hrs between lunch and dinner. We do recommend this place.

Awesome for snorkeling right off the beaches. Easy access to sunrise and sunset beaches. The Bures' on the sunrise side are breezy but great for dry cleaning clothes and sleeping cooler. The food was great although I was expecting more fish dishes. Lamb, beef and chicken are the staples, the rice is cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Staff are great and will show you culture and happiness.

110% hospitality and more ….

Cool dorm (tent on the beach) with comfy bed and pillow, cleaned and tidied and beds made by staff daily Lovely friendly staff throughout Communal showers and toilets not as clean as other resorts, but still fine Water pressure not that strong, takes a while to wash long hair after being in the sea for example No hot water (but this isn’t an issue!) Buffet evenings (albeit lovely) not 3 course a le carte as advertised Really good selection/ food options and caters to dietary requirements Lunch and dinner were provided by staff in a queue service, wafting banana leaves over the food to keep flies away, but they didn’t do this at breakfast, it was help yourself, and flies were everywhere- quite off putting Great egg station with massive omelettes available Tea/coffee station available all day Happy hour was at sunset so that was nice 3 gorgeous beaches to choose from! I wish there’d have been more sun loungers on each beach and more places to relax in the shade Best coral I have ever seen in my life!!! So many different species of fish to see too Manta excursion!! Magical!!!!

My husband and I were at Barefoot Manta for 4 nights and loved every minute of it! The resort is so well laid out with the 3 different beaches and central dining area and then the bures all around the edges right near the beaches. The entire resort was so clean and welcoming. The surrounding reefs (accessible right from the beaches) provided some of the most beautiful and varied snorkeling we've ever done. We could tell the reefs were well taken care of there and really enjoyed learning more from the Marine Science Center on site. There's an abundance of activities available each day for all ages if you'd like to do more than snorkeling and lying on the beach. We enjoyed things like Fijian language classes, fan making, a medicine walk, coconut demonstration, marine talks, low tide explorations, a traditional lovo dinner with entertainment and kava ceremony, etc. The staff were all super helpful and friendly, especially Barry who led many of the activities. Our beachfront bure was clean and beautiful and we loved the private outdoor shower! We highly recommend Barefoot Manta and hope to visit again!

Out of our 2 weeks in Fiji, this was our favourite place to stay of the trip! We absolutely loved it there! We are a family of 3 with a 9yr old and we booked a Beachfront Bure, it was perfect! We faced the Sunrise beach side which tends to be a little windy at times. But it was great to hear the waves crashing not far away as you go to sleep. They added a single bed for our child to sleep in and we still had enough space. The outdoor bathroom was kind of neat! We hadn’t experienced that before. The beds were way more comfortable than I was expecting, we had a nice little lounging area outside to relax and were steps from the beach! This resort is on a fixed meal plan, there is no other option. We paid $129 FJD/ adult and $65 FJD/ child. We were quite happy with the meals that were provided. Meals are set up with in a time frame. Breakfast and lunch buffets were set up. Go early for the best selection! At lunch they show you the dinner menu for that evening and you make your selection so they know what to cook in advance. There were usually 3-4 options, 1-2 being vegetarian. Kids had their own repeat menu to choose from for dinner and ate at the same buffet for breakfast and lunch. The resort itself is excellent. We really enjoyed the size because it wasn’t too big. There is no pool here but you have 3 beaches to swim and snorkel from. Sunset beach always seemed to be the calmest but snorkeling is best during high tide. We absolutely loved our stay here!
