Schloss Hotel Dresden Pillnitz

Everything was perfect!

Hotel very good, except for the air conditioning in the hot room under the roof, which costs extra! The gourmet restaurant was disappointing. For 50 euros per person you can expect fresh salad and veal schnitzel...

We stayed at the Schlosshotel Pillnitz for 3 nights in October 2021. The hotel, which is part of the castle complex, is very idyllically located on the Elbe. Free parking is available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. We had a room on the 1st floor, directly above the entrance area. Unfortunately, this is also used as a smoking area and the smoke came through the open window into our room. A better solution could certainly be found here. The hotel corridors are made of hard floors, so the noise was correspondingly high in the morning. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bed linen was comfortable, only the mattress was too hard for our taste. We loved the solution with the welcome drink, which was available in the room. So we could enjoy it in a relaxed manner. The breakfast was extensive. There were various juices, fruit, yoghurt, muesli, small rolls, bread, toast, sausage, cheese, fish, eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc. We found the coffee station right at the entrance confusing, but it could only be operated by staff. A slightly larger sign or a different location would be helpful. The presentation of the sausage - stacked or at most cut in half - was not very appealing. The scrambled eggs and the omelette that you could order were made from ready-made eggs in my opinion. The service was present and attentive. Apart from minor things here and there, we felt at home at the Schlosshotel Pillnitz.

On our way to Rügen we stayed overnight for the first time at the Schlosshotel Pillnitz (1 night), right on the Elbe. It was a very nice experience, we had an excellent meal on the terrace in the evening. Room and breakfast were fine, staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, which is unfortunately no longer a given these days, whether in restaurants or hotels. Beautiful castle park with great trees, unfortunately only accessible for a fee. Free entry for hotel guests would be desirable... Free parking available, right by the hotel. Recommended!

The Schloss Hotel Dresden-Pillnitz, idyllically located on the Elbe and in the immediate vicinity of Pillnitz Castle and Park, is an oasis of well-being for every guest. I felt completely at home here from check-in to check-out. There are plenty of free parking spaces in front of the hotel. When you check in, you are greeted and received very friendly by the staff. The rooms are a great size and very invitingly furnished. The bathroom is clean and modern. The bed is very comfortable, although the mattress could not have been a bit harder - but I can only speak for myself here. The dinner in the fireplace restaurant was excellent. Here too, the service and quality are just right. The breakfast was very extensive and offered everything that the sweet and savoury heart could desire. Particularly worth mentioning is the large selection of juices and jams/marmalades - with great flavour compositions. This was the perfect way to start the new day. Overall, I can only recommend a stay at the Schloss Hotel Dresden-Pillnitz to everyone. A great gem. Once you're there, you should take a stroll through the castle park and sit by the Elbe and wave to the steamers.
